It sneaks up on you: gradual weight gain that you barely notice until last season’s clothes don’t fit.
For many, 5 kilos = a whole clothing size. Winter can do that!
Here’s a quick checklist to help you shed a few kilos and feel lighter in just a few weeks:
1, Drink more water — studies show that drinking more water can increase metabolic rate (i.e. how many calories you burn). Aim for 2 at least L/day + herbal teas
2, Lights out by 10 pm — 7-8 hours of quality sleep supports a healthy metabolism and reduces inflammation (one of the key drivers for weight gain)
3, Cut out added sugar and artificial sweeteners (pure stevia or monk fruit are OK).
4, Limit or avoid starches (rice, bread, potatoes, bananas, etc.) Starches and sugars spike insulin - the first step in the weight gain cycle.
5, Get 15 minutes of sunlight daily — exposure to any skin surface influences your internal clock and metabolism.
