💪🏽Te Taumāhekeheke Kaumātua💪🏽

Our kaumātua shone today at the Kaumātua Olympics held at Ngā Purapura, competing proudly in three teams: the Hora Te Pai Sharks, the Hora Te Pai Legends, and the Pink Ladies.

It was a morning full of joy, laughter, and friendly competition—followed by a delicious kai and a prizegiving to celebrate everyone’s efforts.

He mihi nui ki ngā kaihāpai me ngā kapa katoa i tae mai ki tēnei kaupapa whakahirahira. Ka rawe koutou mā!

On Saturday, many of our kaimahi proudly stood alongside our iwi partners, Ātiawa ki Whakarongotai, and whānau of Whakarongotai Marae as Te Puna o te Aroha.

After only three weeks of practice, we were honoured to take the stage at the Tākiri o te Ata Kaumātua Kapa Haka Festival. A huge mihi to the organisers for creating such a special kaupapa, and to our ahi kā at Whakarongotai Marae for opening the doors and allowing us to practise in their space.

Ngā mihi nunui also to our whānau who gave their all on stage. Te mīharo hoki!✨
