Unfurled fern fronds on the flora track floor

The flora track is popular among families as it is wide and rather flat. We stayed at the Flora Hut one night last month and met a lovely family with 2 little girls. As we walked with them to the Gridiron Rock Shelter, the six year old held my hand for balance. Still a bit wobbly, we grabbed a stick she could put in her other hand and tied her weka feather she found earlier to the top of it. Taking the design a step further, we then tied a big fern leaf behind the feather. It jiggled as we walked and she giggled the rest of the walk there.

It’s these little moments with kind strangers in the middle of nowhere NZ that I have been grateful for the most lately 💛

A morning of “see you later’s”💕

Started off how it all began, in the box with the boys of barbell club. My first teaching venue and birth of beer yoga 🍻

Then on to teach my last class with our kula of puppies and incredible students! My first studio 🧘🏼‍♀️

I wouldn’t be the teacher I am today without the support of & Brooke. Your influences on how to be an authentic teacher and create a community within your studio will stay with me forever.

Directions: There are signs along the tracks at the northern end of Western Springs indicating how to get there. I normally park at the Zoo carpark and head into the bush from there. Veer away from the Japanese garden and the playground. It's a little hidden, but a magical spot.

Finished the first module of the Yoga Therapy certificate with and learning how to make yoga accessible to everyone with whatever injuries or chronic aches and pains we are going through.

In the first module we covered the lower body including the spine🦵🏼🦶🏼🧘🏻

The yoga therapy process empowers individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the teachings and practices of Yoga✨

Beer Yoga with the Bros!

Incredible night with these beer yogis and with new bottles!! Perfectly designed to balance on most heads even when in tree pose!

This round we even had many new yogis who really nailed those sip cues 😉

The implication of dharma is that there is a right or true way for each person to carry out their life in order to serve both themselves and others.

About Me

Hi guys, my name is Katie Callen. With a strong passion for fitness, I first turned to yoga as an opportunity to stretch after a strenuous workout. It quickly became part of my life as I learned about the different types of classes and branches of yoga. Several years of practicing and self study later, I experienced a great transformation physically and mentally. I wanted to scream about my love of yoga from a mountain top for the world to hear, but instead started my yoga teaching journey. I believe your yoga mat is a place to practice compassion to yourself, as we live in a busy, overstimulated world, where we often do not offer ourselves time, compassion and space. Through yoga, we give ourselves time to move at the pace of our own breathe and with intention.
