Ashs YogaTherapy I'm Ash, a Yoga Therapist from South India. I create Personalised Yoga Therapy plans according to your needs and limitation. Medical Nurse? Yoga Instructor? Yogi.

My three-session approach is designed to guide you toward greater balance, health, and well-being. About me

Healing In My Family’s Legacy

My grandfather was a Varma Kalai healer and Ayurvedic doctor in Tamil Nadu. People came from all over South India to his doorstep to be made healthy by his famous “healing hands”, and herbal medicinal treatments. According to my mother, many people who were n

ot able to walk came to him, and after 48 days of his treatment, they walked. I would like to believe that I carry my family’s legacy, as his passion for healing has no doubt been passed down to me. As a young adult, I went to school to become a nurse, but while I was in nursing school, I was experiencing acute pain in my back and hips. As the years progressed, my condition worsened, and instead of using prescription medications to treat myself, I remembered my roots, and decided to immerse myself in yoga for healing. Around 3 months after daily practice, I had no symptoms, and no more pain. After this rapid self-healing, I felt compelled to deeply reflect on my family history, and the ancient healing technique of yoga. This sparked a newfound desire in me to help and heal other people the way I had been healed. That same year, I enrolled in a basic yoga teacher training program in my hometown. Two years into teaching yoga classes, I became discontent with the yoga that I had been taught to teach. Yoga had to be more than just bending and stretching. I attended workshops, talked to yoga teachers, and researched, but I felt that authentic, effective yoga was very hard to find. For a year and half, I stopped teaching in order to devote myself to personal research. I stumbled upon many influential yogis, the most transformative being T. Krishnamacharya, "The teacher of all teachers" & "father of modern yoga" an extremely influential yogi who introduced me to the importance of conscious breathing, vinyasa krama, and tailored, individualised yoga. Yogis and Yoginis:

Some part of your consciousness has brought you to yoga, and to me, and I’m so happy that our paths have crossed. Congratulations on doing something so significant and life-changing for yourself! I am ready to teach you the essence of true, ancient yoga. Are you ready for the healing journey inside and out? Ashs YogaTherpy

The most beneficial way for a person to do yoga is through a personalized practice. Each asana has an intentional, and specific purpose, designed to remedy and strengthen certain aspects of the human body and mind. After you complete your profile, your needs, limitations, and goals will be matched with ancient asanas and yogic philosophies to create a 100% unique tailored yoga practice for you. Why Personalize Yoga? Doing a general practice in a group is very beneficial, but everybody’s needs are different, and I believe it is your right to know what yoga is best suited to you in order to achieve your goals. Personalized yoga is ever-changing, according to your current needs and goals. and allows room for new needs.

I'm deeply grateful to hear that the yoga therapy sessions have been effective in addressing personal injuries and providing relief where other treatments may have fallen short. It’s truly rewarding to see the power of breathwork and movement come together to support the body's natural healing processes.

The deep connection between breath and healing is indeed at the heart of this ancient practice, and it's wonderful to see the recognition of this approach as a valuable path for managing chronic pain and recovery. Our story

Yoga is expensive!!! No matter any part of the world. I promised myself, when I start to teach Yoga it shouldn’t be either free or expensive. Hence, I came up with the idea of Give What You Can (GWYC), empowering Yogis & Yoginis. This is my way of finding peace by making Yoga affordable to everyone.

I did my international Yoga Teaching certificate (Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200), Yoga Alliance USA ) from the deep roots of India, a small city called Coimbatore which has given great teachers to the world like Swami Satchidananda, Vethathiri Maharishi and Sadhguru.

Since 2016, I have been teaching traditional Hatha Yoga as Private Sessions in North Shore also been teaching for groups at The Train Yard Studio Gym in Blockhouse Bay.
