And that's a wrap—well, almost! The team still has some work experience hours to complete the Certificate in Construction PreTrade, Height Works Level 3, but what an incredible milestone in finishing their training modules with Trainer Brendon from VHNZ.

The final two days were nothing short of amazing, as the team mastered forklift driving and confidently learned how to load and unload goods.

A huge thank you to Brendon for sharing his expertise and guiding the team through their journey. 👌

Shout-out to Dean and Whaea Gloria from Aotea Trade Training Ltd for all the behind-the-scenes efforts support is truly appreciated 👏

Let’s go—sharp and ready!😎

12/12/24: The team spent two days with Darcey Kitchener from Scaffwise Eltham, our scaffold expert. After classroom training, the boys successfully built scaffold platforms up to 5 meters tall. They demonstrated excellent communication, mastered new terminology, and showed great cooperation skills. Notably, for some, they completed their first tower build and efficiently assembled and disassembled the scaffolding. Another skill for the Kete boys, building your mātauranga. Thanks, Dean, for the update and photos. Ka pai koutou.

On behalf of the team, thanks for your kind feedback Steve....

Morena Alan,

I am passing on the trainer, Steve Ritson, comments from first aid last week:

What an amazing Cultural experience being part of your "Pre Trade" journey to get the team back into employment. It was an honour to be part of the morning welcome and felt priveleged to be there. The day was very well received and all worked and engaged extremely well. Apologies for not seeing you again at the end of the day. Hopefully I will be involved in more training for you, and I now have a better understanding of what you are doing.
Thank you. Steve

I spoke to my POC ref the course as I finished slightly early due to "loosing momentum" with the lads. We completed all elements and had an excellent day and 100% back the learning and knowledge but the role play and scenarios was falling apart! Discussions had instead but I felt it better to end on a high with the lads rather than drag it out longer. This was well received. If you could pass on my message, please. Thanks.

Kind Regards | Ngā Mihi,
