Chans Martial Arts Wellington Chan's Martial Arts - Kelburn and Lower Hutt branches Lower Hutt.

Chans Martial Arts is a family friendly environment providing practical training in Chinese style self defense for children, teenagers and adults. The traditional values of Honor and Respect underline our philosophy along with stress free techniques to protect the body but you can still get a sweat up if you are looking for fitness. We also offer Yang style Tai Chi classes at the same time as the

children's class so parents can learn something new as well. Maungaraki Community Hall, Dowse Dr.
Classes are on Mondays and Wednesdays, children and Tai Chi starting at 6pm, teenager/adults classes starting at 7pm.

Happy New Year! Classes start back from tomorrow:

Lower Hutt (Maungaraki Community Centre)
Mondays and Wednesdays 6pm for Tai Chi and 7pm for Kung Fu. Kids Kung Fu will restart in a few weeks - watch out for our post on that.

Kelburn (Kelburn Normal School)
Tuesdays 6.30pm for Tai Chi and 7.30pm for Kung Fu.
Thursdays 7pm Kung Fu (includes a kids class from 7-7.45)
Saturdays 10am Tai Chi

If you haven't yet been along to a Chans Martial Arts class now is the perfect time! All you need is clothing you can move comfortably in (any exercise clothing will be fine) and a pair of trainers.

The holidays are almost here!

In Maungaraki the last class of the year is Wednesday 21st December, and we'll start again on Monday 9th January.

In Kelburn last class is Thursday 22nd, starting back on Tuesday 10th January.

We had a lovely opportunity over the weekend to farewell Geoff Neill as he moves to South Island. There was a great turnout for the dinner on Saturday night and super to hear from Geoff reflecting on 12 years with Chans in Wellington.

Go well Geoff, you'll be very much missed and we look forward to seeing you when you come back to visit.

Next Monday, 26 Sep, New Zealand holds a public holiday in memory of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
