General information
FAQ -What is a Menstrual Cup? A menstrual cup is a type of feminine hygiene product which is made of medical grade silicone, shaped like a bell and is flexible. It is worn inside the va**na during menstruation to catch menstrual fluid (blood).. While tampons absorb 35% va**nal moisture, the Lumii Cup won’t dry you out or leave fibres behind. -What size do I order? Choose the Small size if you are 25 years or under and have not given birth va**nally. Choose the Large size if you are over 25 or have given birth va**nally whatever your age. -How often do I need to empty my Lumii Cup? The Lumii Cup can be worn up to a maximum of 10-12 consecutive hours depending on your flow and should be emptied, washed and rinsed a minimum of 2-3 times a day. -How do I clean my Lumii Cup? Wash your Lumii Cup with water or mild, non-perfumed soap. (Ensure you rinse it thoroughly with water after using soap as any traces left on the Lumii Cup may cause irritation). -What if I'm In a public toilet or at work? Wash your hands at the sink and then either take a small bottle of water into the toilet cubicle with you, empty your Lumii Cup into the toilet bowl, rinse with a small amount of water and re-insert, or wipe the Lumii Cup with toilet paper and re-insert. Remember, because the Lumii Cup tends to hold more menstrual blood than tampons or pads you may not need to empty and reinsert it as often as you would change your conventional sanitary protection. -What about Odor? Menstrual flow only begins to develop an odour when it is exposed to air. As the Lumii Cup is worn internally, odour is not something you need to worry about, leaving you feeling fresh and confident the entire day! -How long will my Lumii Cup last? Silicone is very durable, but we recommend that you inspect your cup regularly for signs of deterioration such as a sticky or powdery film, severe discoloration or odor, etc. If you detect any of these signs or if you experience irritation we recommend you replace your Lumii Cup with a new one. Depending on the factors unique to each woman, like va**nal pH, how well and often the cup is cleaned, what cleansing agents are used, etc., the lifespan may vary. Since the Lumii Cup is a personal hygienic product, a general guideline is to replace it once a year, but ultimately, it is up to the consumer to decide when it is necessary to replace the cup. -Will the Lumii Cup leak? According to consumer research, 60 percent of women experience leakage every month when using tampons and pads! The Lumii Cup does not leak, providing it is inserted and fitted correctly.
