The recent catastrophic floods in Spain have exposed the vulnerabilities of our current neoliberal economic system.

It’s time to confront the truth—enough damage has been done. These disasters were predictable over 30 years ago. Let that sink in.

Posted • .co 🧠 Do you have questions about mental health and wellbeing? 🧠

In an upcoming episode of The Brave and The Wild Podcast, I’ll be joined by our mental health partner, Clinical Psychologist Ampara Bouwens, founder of

Ampara’s no stranger to the tough stuff—she’s got years of experience supporting people from all walks of life (including me) and helping them navigate everything from anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma and more. We’re getting together to discuss some of the mental health and wellbeing questions that you want answers to.

This episode is all about the EWYK community. We want to hear your questions, whether they’re big, small, or somewhere in between. Feel free to ask them in the comments, send a DM to keep it private, or even email me directly at tim@eatwhatyoukill.co

The recent EWYK community survey highlighted the need for more mental health support, and this is just one of the first ways we’re aiming to deliver (this won’t be a one-off). Remember, there’s no stigma here, just open conversations that matter.

Your question could be related to yourself, or to assist you in supporting a loved one, friend or colleague.

💬 Drop your questions below, send a DM, or email tim@eatwhayoukill.co - if you don’t have a question - please share this post, you never know who may have something they’d like discussed.

Cheers,

Posted • .co 🧠 🌏 It’s World Mental Health Day 🌏 🧠 This year’s theme focuses on prioritising mental health in the workplace. Whether you’re self-employed, managing a team, or in a 9-to-5, it’s essential to look after your mental well-being.

With EWYK, my mission is to make conversations around mental health as natural and essential as sharing a meal.

Personally, my own mental health has been pretty rough over the last few years. I'm self-employed and it's hard for so many reasons. Working alone alot has been isolating, and the on-going burnout has come back in a very real way. Once again, I recognised the warning signs like fatigue, panic attacks, and anxiety. I've learned to lean more on friends, family, and my awesome psychologist. Learning tools for self-regulation has also been an absolute game changer, and I’ve realised that most of the work has to be done by myself, for myself, day in and day out until it becomes second nature.

To be honest it all feels like a never-ending journey that is finally starting to go in the right direction. I also now accept that life isn't linear and everyone has their battles, triumphs and losses.

I say all this solely to ‘walk the talk’ while I build this brand – I think that’s really important and touches on so many of the values of Eat What You Kill.

There's a ever-growing space here for these conversations, and I know they won’t happen overnight, but I’m determined to make it just as common as discussing how big the kingi you slayed on the weekend was! (though that is also worth chatting about) 🐟

I'd love to know how you look after your mental health, especially in regards to work? – I believe it’s one of the central influences on our wellbeing. If you're an employer, how do you support your staff? – leave a comment below.

💬 Please share this and help keep the conversation going.

Cheers,
