Carbon Mirrors Art Therapy

Carbon Mirrors Art Therapy Carbon Mirrors offers an service promoting healthy integration of body, soul and spirit.

Using charcoal and watercolour in a medically based therapeutic artistic practise. This page is to promote inform and connect anyone interested in health based modality of art therapy. Carbon Mirrors Art Therapy is held by Tracey Murphy who was a graduate of the Tempera School in Titirangi Auckland, New Zealand. This post graduate course is based out of Anthroposophy and is ratified by the Medical

Section at Goetheanum, Switzerland. Carbon/charcoal is used primarily to intergrate the whole person, and promote healthy movement forward in an integral way. Using observation, gesture and using our hands in the carbon, we set up on the paper, not actually drawing but using the logic of how light and darkness behave in nature we are able to connect ourselves to the big picture and bridge our own "blocks" whether physical, emotional or physcological. Over the years I have had the priviledge to witness and midwife many wonderful individuals who took themselves on and moved in their own pace and time where they needed to be next. LIght Colour and Darkness Art Therapy was given to the world by Liane Collot d’Herbois who created a new pathway or movement for healing right down into the physical body.

So a new year has well and truly begun for most of us. Seems the call for a little art therapy is requested … I’ve been inundated with session requests suddenly. So I’ve decided to offer monthly Saturday sessions while spaces last in Waikato.

There’s now an active wait list so please get in touch privately if you wish to be on the list or are interested in a workshop in August coming up.

Thanks for all the shout outs and please feel free to send onward to anyone who may be needing a little gentle support or shift 🎨🌿🧡

Take it gently meanwhile ☕️🙏🏻

Well, the year has officially completed for Carbon Mirrors Art Therapy sessions.
Packing away the charcoal and paint, cleaning the boards and filing.

I’ve been as usual blessed with being able to work alongside and support some courageous clients this year once again.
Managed to squeeze in a wonderful workshop or two amongst the limited amount of time due to my Eurythmy Training. Thank you to those who made flexibility around tighter time rhythms.

Thank you to all who got curious, needed support and reached out, or gifted sessions for others who otherwise may not of been able to give themselves the time.

Sessions open again in February 2025
with Friday afternoons in Auckland and some slots available for group workshops if you book early in the year if your further afield. Reach out if your wanting to book or have any questions.

Have just loved witnessing the grounding blossoming inspiration and new breath arriving over the sessions together x

Wishing each and everyone of you a beautiful Christmas time and some gentle breathe out toward New Years.

This week I was reminded how important the acknowledging the so-called little moments are amongst the journey of self observation with clients. These smaller intervals of noticing are everything some days.

Taking in the wonder as a process unfolds is so important. Slowing down to notice is key to waking up out of our habit body and trying new thoughts and gestures. Carbon or charcoal allows us to shift easily on the paper so is a very forgiving medium to work in.

Soaking up carbon through the skin organ lifts the Etheric oils toward the surface of the body, and has a special medicinal quality and effect. Helping reticulate our water system and giving us a safer more robust boundary. Drawing out toxins within the system also.

This is a requested and approved photograph by the client who wanted to record this moment in her transformational journey. X

Please in touch if you want to journey in the Carbon medicine with me. Love to share this mysterious wonderous practise .
