Restructure
Lately, I have been hearing this a lot from patients. Large and small organizations are restructuring, sometimes with little notice, and all of a sudden, your income is no longer secure. Scary? Yes! For many of us fear and anxiety sip in just at that moment. We may start being short-tempered with our family and friends, sleep quality reduces and you are waking at 1 or 3 am tired and wired, maybe you start drinking more alcohol, or perhaps your bowel motion slows down. If this sounds familiar I invite you to continue reading... There is, however, another way. You can go into restructuring with great ease and trust. Using this opportunity to reflect: where else in life am I ready to change? How can I be proactive to help my body, mind, and spirit to be healthier?
For most people who suffered trauma in their life, navigating to a positive mindset is very challenging. The human mind tends to go to the darkest, lowest places when crossroads (or opportunities) are rising.
One of my skills, through different tools in treatment and clinical experience, is to guide your mind in seeing all the incredible opportunities that restructuring offers. A tangible outcome will be an immediate change in your mood, improving your quality of sleep and gaining a brighter view with a positive attitude. This is done through touch (a modality that is called "body talk"), conversation, and acupuncture.

The season is changing. Sunlight makes most people happier, lighter in spirit and want to go out and about. But what happens if the head is willing but the body is failing?
You want to start exercise, but comes to the end of the day and you "ran out of time". You want to change your eating habits, but tomorrow is just around the corner and yet tomorrow never comes. You want to go to sleep earlier, call a friend, do that tramp but somehow it all escapes from you.
September is your month. It starts NOW.
This is the time to crystalize your wants and desires. Can you answer yourself, clearly, what do I want? What do I want to grow? I am not talking about your beautiful garden, In all honesty. What family environment would I like to create? What sort of people would I like to surround myself with? What was that dream job I was inspired to do all that time ago? What sort of thoughts and aspirations do I welcome in the garden of my conscious awareness? Because what you say to yourself is what you will eventually see growing.

Poor self-talk is likely to make everything harder, the body moves slower, and the days be much more difficult. Positive self-talk will make you go about your day with greater ease and is likely to make other people more attracted to your radiant presence.
Simply reflect, on which one is more true to yourself.

I invite you to do the work. Go deep. Ask yourself these meaningful questions. Do not wait for another year to pass to create a new year resolution.
Use the energy of the Spring. It has been working for nature since its creation. We are not different from nature. We too move in cycles. Think about your hay fever, your moods around me**es, food cravings when you are depressed, and drinking wine when you are lonely. These are all examples of responses, feelings, and actions moving in cycles.
Do it now. Take the time to invest in your physical health, cultivate your emotional health, and seed the plants of your spiritual health.
Spring is powerful. It holds immense movement from below ground to above earth. Use it. it is real!

Emotional resources

A part of Zohar Centre of Wellbeing vision, is to provide people with tools outside of the clinic setting, where they can access these freely and at times that suits them best.
Breathing, meditation and a healthy diet will help you feel more calm by activating your parasympathetic nervous system. This is the opposite of your sympathetic nervous system, responding to fight, flight or freeze. Many are "locked" in the latter mode, which is a bit similar to having a tiger chasing you at all times.
Nowadays, there is no tiger, only our fears, worries, doubts and insecurities. Over time, our emotions and thoughts deplete internal organs, giving rise to dis-ease.

You are invited to try some of Zohar favorite meditations below. Give it a go for only 7 days. Listen to them all, and see which one you connect with most.
I recommend listening to them daily for the following seven days. You will be surprised at how light and free you feel at the end of the seven days period.

2) Improve your sleep, through harmonizing all your energy centers (also called chakras). Listen just as you get into bed, it is about 45 minutes, so keep that in mind. If you fall asleep - that is perfectly fine :-) You don't need to understand or fully know this funny word "chakra". Simply breathe, follow the mediation and relax. https://youtu.be/DdL9-NhXL6k

4) Stretching! Keep it simple. 10 minutes will go a very long way.

I like to follow Yoga With Kassandra. Her instructions are clear, easy to follow and free on YouTube. Buy a 1.5 liter bottle, fill it in the morning with water and finish it. This will encourage you to drink more water.

5) Conscious breathing. Breath through your nose and count 3 seconds in and 5 seconds out x 10 rounds. Ideally morning and night.
When this becomes easy, increase the times and work towards 4 in and 8 out.

Sounds simple right? Great! It is! Let's do it. Commit to yourself. Create time for you and Visualize Yourself Better Everyday.
