Annual charity gift wrapping at North City this year gave some great exposure to Lift the Lid - who work towards providing counselling in schools and raising awareness for youth mental health. Jenna Hyndman has been with us since 2012, harking back to our Wheelers Guardian days, where Jenna worked alongside Stuart Wheeler and Steve Haddock. Jenna qualified as an Embalmer in 2010 and a Funeral Director in 2015. With a huge passion for education, professional and personal development Jenna has worked with many students but most recently been proud to work with Liz on the journey to achieve her diploma.
Outside of the work Jenna has a keen interest in the outdoors, our beautiful local walkways and eateries, and anything water related.

Elizabeth Battrick joined us at the beginning of 2020, settling on dry land after a long career with the Cook Strait Ferries. She has a passion for anything people related and loves hearing the stories families share. Liz recently completed her Diploma in Funeral Directing and become a registered Funeral Director through the Funeral Directors Association of New Zealand and has just received her practising certificate. When she’s not at work Liz has an interest in conservation and outside adventures with her husband Jesse. She loves the Porirua community and is often out enjoying the many new (and the established)local eateries or snapping pictures on one of our beautiful Porirua nature walks.

Angelina Maltby has been with us since 2014 working alongside both Steve Haddock and the late Stuart Wheeler. In the last ten years Angelina has become an outstanding funeral director and a qualified embalmer. Angelina has an exceptional eye for detail, loves creating and anything creative, and In her spare time she is a devoted dog mum to Butch and is always working on home improvement projects.

Did you know one in four people who die in the Wellington region are cared for by Mary Potter Hospice and government funding only covers half the cost to keep the service free. Thanks to the generosity of our communities together we’ve raised $122,588. It’s always such a privilege to be involved ❤️

Blessed with beautiful weather for this years Relay. Fantastic energy, colourful costumes. The first lap was survivors and carers, not a dry eye to be seen. $4326 raised so far and we will match this dollar for dollar. So proud to be here today.
