The PD Warrior programme starts next Monday 23 January at Alpine Health and Fitness.

This unique therapy approach will help to build your confidence, improve your mobility and help you to fight the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. PD Warrior revolutionises not only the therapy that is delivered to people with mild symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, but also when it is delivered, how it is delivered and why it is delivered.

Based on four key pillars including exercise, education, mindset and support, PD Warrior is the most comprehensive approach available. Our 10-week program includes weekly group exercise sessions, a personalised home program, 2x individual consultations with an accredited Exercise Physiologist, and access to online resources for education and support.

Exercise is a stress...Fuel appropriately for your training stress and overcome that training stress.
Intermittent fasting is one of the biggest disservices to women in the athletic population.
Women already have elevated cortisol and their bodies are already predisposed to using free fatty acids and sparing carbohydrates... so it becomes an incredible amount of stress (a catabolic state) if she doesn’t fuel for her training or practices time restricted eating in and around training.
The longer you stay in a catabolic state (e.g. not fueling post exercise!), the more it predisposes your body to get into the low energy availability repercussions which lead to hypothalamic amenorrhea, reduced resting metabolic rate, and RED-S. Baseline calorie need thresholds are higher in women than in men to avoid LEA.
Please don't mix athletic research with health research... they don’t cross. The exercise data shows there is no improvement in athletic performance following IF (https://bit.ly/3mRvY2m), and the risk of LEA is significantly increased! Exercise in itself is a fasted state, with strong signals for autophagy (doi: 10.1101/cshperspect.a029777= and longevity.

⁉️Have you tried intermittent fasting or have you always fueled for your training appropriately?
