In relationships or dating, we often look for the 'perfect' partner, someone who can make us feel whole or take away our insecurities.

But no one can fill that role completely. Our discomfort, our doubts—they are ours to make room for, not someone else’s to fix.

True connection happens when we allow ourselves and our partners to be imperfect and focus on shared values and the commitment to build together, not unrealistic expectations.

Self Sabotage. I’ve been there myself. And when you get REALLY entangled in your mind when it's beating you up- LIFE SUCKS!

Learning to pivot from a life of self sabotage to LIVING FULLY is not some secret magic sauce. It's a skill set, like almost everything else.

And it's normal not to know how to do it, I mean, did someone hand you a manual about how to be a human when you were born? I know I didn't get one! And I think if I did get one it told me all the wrong things to do that's for sure!

So here's the offer… We can’t stop your mind producing those self sabotaging thoughts and feelings. No one can, my mind does it, so does everyone else’s. But we can learn how to respond to them more effectively and move towards a life we want and the person we want to be. That is something everyone can learn.

Self-sabotage often comes from fear—the fear of failure, rejection, or even success.

We tell ourselves, ‘I’ll mess this up anyway,’ so we don’t even try, thinking that this keeps us safe from disappointment.

But real growth comes from stepping into uncertainty, accepting that mistakes are part of the process, and acting in line with what matters, despite fear. Its a pivot towards a life we really want, deep down.

Sometimes we get so caught up in our own thoughts and struggles that it’s hard to see ourselves clearly. Just like the eye can’t see itself, we often need a different perspective—whether it’s through others or taking a moment to step back.

When we make space for discomfort and look through the lens of our values, we get clearer on who we are and where we want to go. It’s not about fixing every problem, but learning to unhook from what holds us back and focus on what truly matters.

Ever feel like you're just grinding away, pushing a giant boulder uphill, only for it to roll right back down? It’s easy to get stuck in that cycle, feeling like you’re just surviving day by day without any real sense of direction or purpose. It’s frustrating, right?

This feeling isn’t just a “you” thing; it’s something a lot of us go through.

The myth of Sisyphus—a guy from Greek mythology—captures this struggle perfectly. He was condemned to roll a boulder up a hill for eternity, and just when he thought he’d made it, the boulder would roll back down. Kind of feels like the economy or dating today!

But here’s the twist: it’s not just about the struggle; it’s about how we choose to deal with it.

In this post, I dig into what Sisyphus can teach us about finding meaning in our own lives, even when it feels like we’re stuck in the grind.

Why in the world are our minds so negative?

Our minds tend to throw some pretty interesting thoughts our way sometimes! I mean, this shouldn’t come as any surprise to anyone, but a lot of them tend to be pretty unhelpful…

Stop what you are doing long enough and just let your mind do its thing and you’ll soon have some interesting things come up!

So why are our minds this way? Some research put the number of unhelpful or negative thoughts we have each day at over 80%! So why do some of us spiral in things like depression, anxiety and self sabotage and others don’t?

Well, there's nothing defective with you if you do have these things come up. You aren’t broken, sick or in need of ‘fixing’.

In this blog post I explore an easy to understand way of why our minds can be so unhelpful or negative and a different way of responding to it that's based on the methods backed by thousands of studies:
