I started Pilates before it was “cool.”
A mentor’s friend was looking to train up a young, enthusiastic girl… and that was me. I walked into the studio and honestly had no idea what I was looking at. Springs, straps, strange machines. In my head, Pilates was for old people at the rec centre doing a few gentle mat moves.
Then I felt the method.
At the time I was bodybuilding and training hard. The kind of “go harder, push through” season. Pilates didn’t fight that version of me… it balanced me. It met me exactly where I was on the day.
Sore muscles from overtraining? It brought me back into alignment.
A cranky back from a weak core and overdeveloped superficial muscles? It taught me how to move from the inside out.
Not just stronger… smarter. More connected. Mind, body, soul.
And the more I learned, the more I witnessed.
People getting their lives back after injury.
Athletes levelling up their performance.
Beginners finding a doorway into movement they actually enjoyed, and could stick to.
That’s why I’m here.
To help. To make this accessible. To keep the method alive.
Training begins tomorrow.
Can’t wait to sharpen the sword. ⚔️✨
