Your hips are the bridge between your upper body and your legs.
They carry you forward, help you change direction, stabilise your spine, and absorb impact every time you walk, hike, dance or climb stairs.

🔹 How hips move:
They move in all directions — flexion, extension, rotation, side-to-side.
When hips are free, your movement feels light and fluid.
When they’re restricted, the body compensates… often through the lower back, knees or neck.

🔹 When hips are activated:
• Walking & hiking
• Sitting (yes — especially long sitting 😅)
• Climbing, squatting, dancing
• Emotional stress + holding patterns

Hips are powerful… and sensitive.
They tend to store tension, fatigue and emotions, especially when we’re constantly “holding it together” or not moving enough.

Gentle mobility, stretching, breath and massage help release deep tension, improve circulation and reconnect you to your body — not just mechanically, but emotionally too.

💦Hydration in peak summer isn’t just about drinking more water.

In Queenstown’s heat, your body loses fluids faster through sweating, movement, and long daylight hours outdoors.

🍉Water is essential, but hydration also comes from:
• Electrolyte balance – a pinch of sea salt, coconut water, or mineral-rich foods help water absorb into your cells
• Hydrating foods – watermelon, cucumber, berries, oranges, leafy greens
• Timing – sipping regularly throughout the day rather than waiting until you’re thirsty
• Reducing dehydrators – excess coffee, alcohol, and very sugary drinks increase fluid loss

💧When hydration drops, the body often responds with: Headaches, heavy limbs, muscle tension, poor sleep, slower recovery, and that “flat” summer fatigue.
