So great to finally have the trademark approved, after starting the process back in August 2025.
For multiple reasons, I was never planning to stay at the old practice long term — that was never the vision, as I thought I would end my career there. What I am proud of is that right through until surgery in September, I continued to work hard for patients, support the team around me, and do my best for the business.
Business can teach you some tough lessons, and people do unexpected things at times. One positive from all of this is the importance of protecting yourself and your work going forward. A good life lesson learned. People do strange things.
Now it’s time to focus on the future — a fresh start and building something strong again. Through some challenging times, we have created positive change both for the building at 38 Gorge Road, which is being transformed into Airbnb accommodation, and for the launch of a new clinic.
In many ways, it feels like going back to the old days of starting out in Queenstown in 1993 — exciting, challenging, and full of possibility. Bring on next week after I return home.
