First time I had 8 hours of sleep in a row last night for 12 months!

Strangely I didn't actually notice until I was calculating Maea's collective sleep hours this morning.

You may wonder how on earth I didn't notice getting more sleep than my body is usually use to based on how I felt?

It's because for the last three years I have been intentionally working on my energy every single day so regardless of how my sleep hours stack I have felt good in my body.

This is not just a result of knowing exactly what to eat to counteract broken sleep but also tracking what is contributing to my energy and what was causing any energy leaks.

'Sticking to a plan' for healthy eating is just masking your unconscious eating patterns.

When you let go of the systems and beliefs that keep you feeling in control of what you eat that's when you truly claim your power back in your relationship with your eating, your health and your well-being.

However, doing this on your own and expecting long term results is like going to the beach in winter and expecting to be an ocean swimmer when you haven't been swimming for years.

When you want a better relationship with the way that you eat - you're first assumption would be to work on your eating/food mindset - right?

This is actually wrong and not going to give you the long term healing you desire

You see, when I work with my clients I don't tell them what to eat or give them a set plan to follow

Why is that?

Because your relationship with eating is the gateway to your full spectrum of health.

Your body holds the score and determines whether you will stay healthy and well or not.

Here's an example

I had a client who joined my four week mini course that wanted to get her unconscious eating of sweet food under control.

Feeding her different foods than what she was already consuming and avoiding sugar was not the answer here.

Instead, I looked at her current situation, her work life, her family life, what she did for enjoyment and how she liked to move her body (if at all).

What I discovered was she was going to the headache clinic for subsequent migraines for over 18 months.

When I asked why they haven't healed them yet

She never had considered that her migraines could be healed.

It was the migraines that were leading to the sweet food. After four weeks of her eating improving by watching the weekly short seminars in her own time she decided to upgrade to work together on her total health & well being in my signature healthy body transformation package privately.

Once we got to the root cause of the migraines - her whole way of eating naturally shifted by collateral no script/plan or diet needed within 3 months of nourishing her lifestyle giving her body/mind and nervous system what she needed.

So how you need to nourish your body is also different.

It's been a minute since I've shared on here and here is why....

Having an infant at 42 years old while feeding and mentoring four growing boys between 10-16 years old takes a lot more energy than the lifestyle I had when I was a solo mother of one.

Add in a plethora of birthday celebrations this last month between myself, my partner, my sons and my father's - eating well requires balancing things out so we can enjoy all the food we want without gaining weight.

In our house every one has different dietary requirements not just because of the different ages & stages but also our digestive systems all work differently.

It has highlighted how important it is that we are aware of what we feed our body, mind and nervous system during busy times.

It's also emphasized how having a full life can be all consuming state of survival some days and why taking care of our energy and eating well is paramount to stay healthy and on top of things.

Lifestyle changes happen without force when you're adulting and this is why I will always be an advocate for diets never working (even healthy ones). Even more so if you're not just feeding yourself.

What works is having a flexible system that allows you to nourish your lifestyle as well as your families that you can tweak and make small adjustments that suit everyone.

Keeping it simple.

Practising what I have taught thousands of others living a full & busy life the last 20 years has been a God send during this new way of being.
