“While some clinicians will tell you that women with a higher BMI are more likely to have a caesarean because of reasons to do with their weight or size, we have to consider the possibility that the increased chance of being told you need a caesarean if you have a higher BMI may be wholly or partly because of the beliefs and attitudes held by health professionals, and/or by the way they and others treat you during your pregnancy and birth.”
