The other day, someone told me they felt hypnotherapy didn’t fit with their Christian beliefs. They shared that their faith is in Jesus, not in themselves — and it really made me pause and reflect.
I deeply respect all faiths and belief systems. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with people from many different backgrounds.
For me, hypnotherapy is simply a gentle way of helping people work with their own mind and body to create the changes they want in life. It’s another set of tools — much like what you might receive from any other health and well-being practitioner be it a counselor, physio or doctor for example.
It never replaces a person’s beliefs or faith. In fact, it can often complement them by helping quiet the mind, bring focus, and support people in connecting with what truly matters to them - be it more calmness, hope for the future, releasing an addiction or increasing their self-confidence or even their personal beliefs.
What do you think, how would you respond? I'm curious to find out!
