☀️ The sun in Aotearoa has very high UV levels
Too much UV can damage your skin and increase the risk of skin cancer, including melanoma.

We all know to SLIP, SLOP, SLAP, and WRAP, but there’s more you can do:

🌤️ Use UV Index (UVI) forecast apps to see when the sun is strongest and when to protect your skin and eyes.

🧴Let’s slop our bodies right ☀️

• Use enough sunscreen — don’t skimp on the good stuff
• Cover all exposed areas, including ears, neck, and the tops of your feet
• Apply sunscreen before heading outside
• Reapply every 2 hours — especially after swimming or sweating

Meri Kirihimete | Merry Christmas

On this joyous day, we want to take a moment to acknowledge our community.

Thank you to our whānau, patients, partners and supporters for walking alongside Hauora Hokianga throughout the year. Your trust, care and connection continue to shape the work we do.

To those working through the holiday period, we see you and we thank you for your mahi.

❤️

🕯️ Christmas Eve has arrived once again, and as the year draws to a close, we want to take a moment to acknowledge the festivities of our Christmas carols.

🎶 Thank you to our kaimahi, whānau, community and residents for singing along. It is truly a privilege to attend and capture the happiness, colour, and joy these shared waiata bring.

A very special mention to matua Eru Wano for keeping us on beat with his guitar.

Yesterday, our residents were also lucky enough to enjoy another bagpipe recital by the talented Hunter McInnes.

❤️ From all of us at Hauora Hokianga, we wish you a safe, gentle and restful Christmas Eve with the people and places that matter to you.
