🎉We are very excited to share that our Nurse Prescriber Sarah du Plooy has recently qualified as a Registered Nurse Practitioner.

Earlier this month she passed her panel exams after training towards them over the previous year. All of us at Rolleston Central Health know how hard Sarah has worked to accomplish this and how difficult the final panel exam is. It is fantastic news that she's passed.

As a Nurse Practitioner Sarah will operate as an advanced practice clinician who can assess, diagnose and manage a wide range of health conditions.

Sarah says: " I am over the moon to have completed my studies and passed the panel exam. It feels like a great accomplishment and has been a goal of mine since I graduated from Nursing school. I am excited for the new opportunities to provide healthcare within general practice. Thank you to my colleagues and mentors for their continued support and the support of the patients who I have seen over the past year as I worked towards this goal"

👣 Mid Canterbury Foot Clinic at Rolleston Central Health

Podiatrists are specially trained to diagnose and treat foot and lower limb conditions.

This can range from routine care like hard-to-cut toenails, through to ingrown toenail surgery, sports injury treatment, and injury prevention.

Marcel Morton is ACC registered, meaning patients may be eligible for a subsidy if their condition is injury-related.

He also works closely with a wide network of health professionals, including GPs, physiotherapists, chiropractors, sports doctors, surgeons, and radiology providers, to ensure the best possible treatment plan.

🩺 A few helpful reminders about appointments at Rolleston Central Health

To help us provide the best care possible, all consultations at Rolleston Central Health are by appointment only. Appointments can be booked online or by calling our reception team.

Standard appointments are 15 minutes and are for one health issue per visit. If your concern is more complex or you have multiple things to discuss, your clinician may ask you to book a follow up appointment so everything can be addressed properly.

Some services require longer appointments or are not offered by all clinicians. Please call reception to book for:
• Contraceptive implants and devices (IUD, Mirena, Jadelle)
• Minor surgery
• Insurance medicals or forms
• Travel appointments

We also keep same day appointments available for urgent or acute issues. These do fill quickly at busy times, so please phone reception as early as possible.

🤧 Feeling unwell?
If you have cold or flu like symptoms, please do not enter the clinic. Instead, call reception and you will be booked into our separate respiratory clinic if you need to be seen.

⏰ Running late or can’t attend?
Please call ahead if you’re running late. If you are five minutes or more late, the appointment may be marked as a non attendance. Missed appointments without at least three hours’ notice may incur a non attendance fee.

Where possible, we encourage patients to see their regular clinician, as continuity of care leads to better long term health outcomes. Booking early, especially for routine visits or repeat prescriptions, can help make this easier.

Finally, we’re proud to provide friendly, caring, and supportive health care. We ask that all patients treat our staff with respect. We have a zero tolerance policy for abusive or aggressive behaviour.

💉 If you’re a registered patient aged 15 to 26 years and haven’t yet had your FREE HPV vaccine, now’s the time to book! 🩺

The HPV vaccine helps protect against several cancers and is fully funded, meaning it’s free for eligible patients.

The appointment takes around 15 minutes, with a short wait afterwards, and is provided by our nurse team in a safe, supportive setting.

🧠 New ADHD Assessment Clinic!

Recent changes now allow GPs and Nurse Practitioners to carry out ADHD assessments, which can significantly reduce wait times and costs for patients.

📆 As a result, we’ll be running a dedicated clinic on the last Friday of each month, led by an ADHD Specialist Consultant Nurse.

This clinic is available to enrolled patients only and is currently for adults aged 18 and over.

This is an important step toward improving access to care and supporting adults who may be seeking answers, clarity, or next steps.
