Running on empty has become so normalised that most people don't even recognise it anymore.

They think it's just life. Just being busy. Just getting older.

But in over 20 years of clinical practice, exhaustion that doesn't shift — no matter how much you rest — is almost never just tiredness. It's your body asking for something it isn't getting.

When someone tells me they're exhausted all the time, there are three things I look at first. And more often than not, the answer isn't complicated. It's just been missed.

If you've been running on empty and accepted it as your new normal — I'd gently suggest it doesn't have to be.

I'm based in Rolleston and available online throughout NZ. If this resonates, I'd love to have a conversation.

Supplement Smarts — Episode 1 💚

As a Natural Medical Practitioner, one of the most common things I see is people spending good money on supplements that their body isn't fully absorbing.

Vitamin C is a perfect example.

Most people take 1,000mg once a day.
The research shows your gut absorbs close to 100% of a 200mg dose — but that efficiency drops significantly above that.
So that single large dose?
Your body is likely using about half of it.

The clinical fix is simple: split the dose.

500mg twice a day — or better yet, 250mg with each meal. Same total amount. Significantly better absorption.

This is the kind of practical detail that doesn't make it onto the supplement label — but makes a real difference to whether your investment in your health is actually working.

That's exactly why I created Supplement Smarts — short, practical videos to help you get more from the supplements you're already taking.

💚 Follow along for more — and feel free to share with anyone who takes vitamin C daily.

After seven years in New Zealand — and quite a journey to get here — I have a clinic room.

It's a small thing, maybe. But for me it means something.

When I arrived in NZ I wasn't sure I'd return to practice at all.
I took a long road back — through health shops, government roles, and eventually, back to what I was trained to do and what I love.

This room in Rolleston is the physical expression of that.
A quiet, private space where I can see clients face to face — alongside the online consultations I've been offering.

If you're local to Canterbury and you've been looking for a natural health practitioner who brings 25+ years of clinical experience, a whole-person approach and genuine care — the door is open. Literally. 🚪

In-person consultations now available in Rolleston.

Online consultations available throughout NZ.

Book via the link in my bio or message me directly.

Something I've been sitting on for a while — and I'm finally making it available. 🌿

Over more than two decades in clinical practice, I developed a range of complex homeopathic remedies that I used personally and with my patients. These aren't off-the-shelf products. Each one has been carefully formulated by me, drawing on years of clinical experience and a deep understanding of homeopathic medicine.

The Cherice Baker Homeopathic Range includes eight complex remedies:

🌿 Bites & Stings
🌿 Tummy
🌿 Nausea & Vomiting
🌿 Fever & Inflammation
🌿 Bumps & Bruises
🌿 Cold & Flu
🌿 Sore Throat
🌿 Sinus

These are available by enquiry only — because I believe a brief conversation about what you need is always the right starting point.

If you'd like to know more, head to the link below or send me a message directly. I'd love to hear from you.

Sharing this from my Foxy For Life page —
this is the kind of content I am creating
over there.

If you want more of this,
come and follow me at Foxy For Life. 🦊

When I moved to New Zealand, I worked in a health shop and I predominately I saw two kinds of customers.

Those that came into the shop asking, "where do I start?" - they wanted to feel better and needed to cope better, but they were overwhelmed, not sure what they needed.

Others came in asking for the supplement they'd recently heard about on a podcast or seen advertised everywhere, hoping that it was exactly what they needed, that it easily would solve their health concerns.

Both are completely understandable.
And neither is wrong.

But here's what I observed time and again:

Without having solid foundations in place, even the best targeted supplement will only ever do a fraction of what it's capable of.

You can spend a significant amount on something highly specific - and feel very little benefit, simply because your body doesn't yet have the basics that it needs to respond.

Think of it like building a house.
You wouldn't skip the foundations because you were excited about the interior design.
The foundations are what make everything else work.

After 25 years as a Natural Medical Practitioner, my starting point is always the same.

Three things:

🌿 A quality multivitamin - not a supermarket brand

🌿 Omega 3 - the foundational element that most women are significantly deficient in

🌿 An adaptogen for stress - because a depleted nervous system undermines everything else

These aren't exciting.
They're not getting much podcast airtime.
But they are the difference between a body that can respond to support — and one that can't.

Over the next two weeks I'm going to break each of these down -what they do, why quality matters, and what you're missing without them.

Because building your foundations isn't just about feeling better today.

It's about buying yourself resilience for everything midlife brings.

👉 The three products I personally recommend are waiting in the Foxy Shop — link in bio.

An interesting article in the media today.

The surge is ultra processed, packaged foods is affecting our health.

Big food companies spend a huge amount of money creating "foods" that are extremely tasty and very addictive.

Added to this is branding, advertising and clever marketing, which is often targeted at children and teenagers.

Biscuits, crackers, breakfast cereal and nut bars are examples of processed foods that are marketed as healthy simply because they may contain nuts and seeds, or are higher in fibre (for example).

And the tragedy is that these fake foods are sometimes so much cheaper than real foods.

There is a direct relationship between the consumption of these ultraprocessed foods and poor metabolic health, which affects physical and mental health across all ages.

As a parent of teenage boys, I understand how real this battle is.
Eating junk food over real nutritious food is a constant point of tension in our household 😕

The sad truth is that with the abundance and convenience of fake processed foods in our world, it has become normalized to eat out of a package, regardless of what this means for our health.

Hi everyone — a quick update from me 😊

Some of you will know that over the last few years I’ve been exploring different work and directions. I’m excited to share that I’m now back in practice and I’ve officially launched a new page and website called Foxy For Life 🎉

Foxy For Life is where I’ll be focusing on midlife women’s health — practical, evidence-informed coaching and education to help women feel better in their bodies (sleep, energy, mood, weight, brain fog… all the things that can shift in midlife).

If you’d like to follow along, I’d love to have you there:
👉Facebook: Foxy For Life
And here’s my first blog post (the “start here” foundation piece):

I’ll keep this page active too, and over time I’ll use it for other natural health updates and product-related information — but FFL will be my main home for midlife content.

Thank you for being here — your support means a lot 💚
Comment FOXY if you’ve followed so I can come and say hi.

A grounded, science-led perspective on midlife health—cut through overwhelm and choose your next step with calm clarity.

Are taking omega 3 as part of your daily supplement routine?

Thank you for sharing

Omega-3 DHA has been found to reduce Alzheimer's risk by 49%. As we know, lowering neuroinflammation in the brain plays a key role in fighting the development of Alzheimer’s disease. Obtaining this from your diet with wild-caught, low-mercury seafood is even better.
