Pōhiri is complete, matts have been laid and we are ready to roll😉
If you can't make the event tomorrow it will be live streamed by Local Gecko Productions (see below) 🙌
And, just a couple last pānui for āpōpō:

💖We will have our memorial table setup on the wharenui mahau if you'd like to place a photo of your loved one for the duration of the event and please remember to collect before you leave.

🍃Health &Safety
First Aiders and a Medic will be situated at both sites should anyone need medical attention.

🍃Tamariki supervision
There is alot going on throughout this event so please ensure you watch your tamariki.

🍃 Smoking/vaping - please be respectful of the marae and whānau tamariki areas and move away from the event to smoke.

🥷Which waka!?which iwi!? will take home the first annual Hakaraia Wilson Memorial Grappling Event trophies? You'll have to come and find out whānau😉🙌

She sits in remembrance,

She pulled herself from the darkness,
as her spirit whispered,
“There’s more for you than this.”

There were no signposts,
no hands waiting at the edge
just her,
choosing to rise
through silence, through shadows, through doubt.

Every step still aches,
every breath still burns.
As she grows into her becoming,
into who she is beneath the dark.

In this space,
she honours the truth
