Not every mamae needs to wait until your usual doctor is available.

This Monday 18 May, we’ll be at Te Kōutu Marae from 3pm–6pm, in partnership with Te Kōutu Marae.

Come through as a casual patient 🙋not to change from your usual clinic, but to check in on what your tinana might be telling you.

Available on the day:
• Dr Aroha 🌼 if your body’s been asking for a check-in
• Mirimiri 🌸 because hauora is more than physical
• Medication kōrero with Brendon from RAPHS
• Heart Foundation kai kōrero with Fraser, with delicious meals to try
• Health screening support and referrals with Rowie and the team

Maybe it’s something you’ve been Googling.
Maybe it’s a medication you’ve been on for a while.
Maybe it’s kai, heart health, screening, or just needing a kōrero.

We’ll be there, ready to help you find the right next step.

Nau mai, haere mai ki Te Kōutu Marae.

It's international nurses day today! 🩺

So we honour our founders and celebrate our amazing nēhi, and all nurses across Aotearoa.

Korowai Aroha was born from the hearts of our founding nurses Ivy Curtis, Nellie Curtis, Ruth Faulds, Miriarangi Heke, Wima Kameta, Charlene Kershaw, Rosaline Ransfield and Ngaire Whata

These mana wahine walked so our nēhi of the present and future can run. Everyday our nēhi are there to tautoko whānau through moments of illness and healing. They're there for the tough days and the days when whānau can celebrate their hauora wins!

The mahi doesn't end at 5pm, and the care doesn't stop at the door. A nurses impact can be felt throughout the whare of whānau they serve and even throughout generations as māmā bring their pēpi into the clinic.

Korowai Aroha is what it is today, because a group of Māori Nurses dared to dream. As the late Dame Tariana Turia once said
"We are indebted to their imagination and their belief that the health and wellbeing of the community could be achieved under the korowai of Māori worldviews"

We acknowledge and honour not only our own nēhi, but all nurses who continue to uplift hauora, empower those around them and support whānau throughout our communities. ❤️

✨Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou katoa i tēnei Rā Nēhi✨
