Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month | Know the Signs 🧡

Did you know that Aotearoa has some of the highest rates of ovarian cancer in the world? It is the fifth leading cause of cancer death for women in New Zealand, yet it can be difficult to detect.

❌ Cervical smear tests DO NOT detect ovarian cancer. Because there is no proven screening method, we must be the experts on our own bodies. Knowing the signs and symptoms is our best defense.

Learn the signs, save this post to refer back to, and send it to your hoa so they are aware.

In Aotearoa, over 60,000 babies are born each year. But we know that the current health system does not work well for many, especially for our Māori, Pacific, and disabled whānau.

The Kahu Taurima programme is equipped with wrap-around services that adapt to the unique needs of whānau, building a healthier future for our tamariki and setting up lifelong wellbeing for all.

To our māma needing support, please talk to your hauora provider and ask about the care options available through the Kahu Taurima programme.
