We have new tenants!

Dr Louisa Barter of Thrive Sports & Exercise Medicine + Fran Tague of Inner Health Physio both moved their practices into GoPhysio in September and we're thrilled to have them!

Dr. Barter is both a Sports and Menopause Doctor with over 15 years of experience in helping men and women reach their health and wellness goals.

Fran on the other hand specialises in pelvic health and vestibular rehabilitation physiotherapy.

Rotorua is lucky to have easy access to both of these incredible specialists. Being under the same roof makes referrals and second opinions between the 3 practices super easy. Equally, we remain independent and can, and do, refer to the appropriate specialists outside of our Haupapa St clinic.

Last night senior physiotherapist, Sarah, spoke to a hall full of fabulous ladies about the musculoskeletal (aches and pains!) and workplace health considerations when it comes to menopause. The research she has unpicked is the basis of our new Menopause Exercise Assessment.

It was a privilege for her to be asked to speak alongside Anu from Anu Weir Wellness, Dr Louisa Barter from Thrive Sports & Exercise Medicine, Fran from Inner Health Physio and Roshni from QE Health.

Huge thanks to everyone who attended. We hope you left feeling more informed, supported and willing to ask for help and make changes if you need.

GoPhysio is always here if you have any questions or concerns. You can contact us direct, there's no need for a GP referral.

Sarah has recently developed GoPhysio's Menopause Exercise Assessment which guides women through from understanding their underlying conditions to a personalised exercise programme.

Our awesome Physio, Sarah, is a big part of the mountain biking scene here in Rotorua. Check out the post below as the Rotorua Mountain Bike Club shines the light on the work she does behind the scenes to support the club's rider development program!

Committee Member Spotlight 🔦

Meet Sarah Croucher 🤩, the force behind our Rider Development Programs & a familiar face at Club events. Don't forget her amazing family—XC star Ant, groms Poppy & Noah, & trusty trail buddy Snoop!

1️⃣Your involvement in Club events, especially with kids, is invaluable. Could you recount a heartwarming moment from one of these events?
“At the local Intermediate schools champs we co-hosted, 2 girls came through at the very end. I could hear them chatting away, remarking how awesome the trail was (Arepa!), the event, and MTBking in general. They weren't worried about being last, just fully immersed in riding and chatting. Loved it!”

2️⃣Apart from the podium finishes, what valuable life lessons have you seen your kids learn through mountain biking?
“Podium finishes are a byproduct. If you want a good life - find something you love & surround yourself with good people. My kids ride every day—everyone from forest users to cafe staff looks out for them. MTB connects them to a community of awesome people & opens up opportunities for them to grow into rad humans.”

3️⃣You and your husband are a power duo—physios and biking enthusiasts. How does your role as a physio integrate into the biking community?
“Physio & biking go hand in hand—often along with crashes. We help bikers, our knowledge of biking drives us to help them get back out there ASAP. Ant's international bike campaigns give insights into high-performance.”

4️⃣Your role in rider development is essential. What's the most rewarding part of watching young riders progress?
“Witnessing growth as riders and individuals. Our programs improve skills & instill discipline, teamwork, and STOKE! Watching them bond with riders fosters camaraderie and community within our club. It's rewarding to nurture their passion.”

5️⃣What’s your vision for the growth and development of the Rotorua MTB community?
“We've seen growth, and so has the sport. Keeping MTB accessible, sustainable & supporting youth's development is crucial. Let's continue to create opportunities, foster camaraderie, and maintain our vibrant community.”

Cheers to Sarah for weaving her passion into the fabric of our club! 🙏

• Low-grade knee injuries (sprains & strains)
• Post-Traumatic Knee Osteoarthritis (PTOA)
• Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury

On Friday we said farewell to Jay, who is leaving GoPhysio after five awesome years, to move back to her hometown. Jay has been an integral part of our team and made a significant impact during her time with us, helping countless patients to recover from injuries and get back to doing what they love, always with a smile on her face. We’re sad to see her go but wish her all the best as she embarks on her next adventure.

We haven’t been successful in the search to find another amazing physio to join our team just yet so in the meantime we have Ant, Corey & Lydia available to help with all your injury needs.

We're still on the lookout for a Physiotherapist to join our team of 7 clinicians. Between us, we have a depth of experience that a new recruit will both add to and benefit from. Our modern, purpose-built clinic provides a great working environment for our fun-loving and supportive team.
We don't recruit often, so if you, or anyone you know, are interested in this role now is the time to email Olly Shaw in confidence at olly@gophysio.co.nz
