First myth to bust for 2026!
In reality, confidentiality is a core part of therapy, and your privacy is deeply respected. What you share in sessions stays there, with only very limited legal exceptions that are explained clearly at the start. This also extends beyond the therapy room — if I see you out in the community, I won’t acknowledge you unless you acknowledge me first. That way, you stay in control of who knows and when. Therapy is your space, and your choice.
