Yesterday, our team had the privilege of attending the Connected Beginnings – Aboriginal Early Years Mini Health Expo, an event that truly reflected the strength and unity within our community.

It was inspiring to connect with so many dedicated organisations, all working towards a shared goal, to educate, support, and empower our community, with a strong focus on improving health outcomes for our children in their early years.

Events like this highlight the importance of collaboration, cultural understanding, and early intervention in creating brighter futures. We are proud to stand alongside organisations who are committed to making a meaningful and lasting impact in the lives of our young people and their families.

A big thank you to everyone involved in bringing this event together, your work continues to inspire and strengthen our communities.

Yesterday, our team had the opportunity to attend the Business Growth Seminar, hosted by The University of Adelaide in partnership with The Circle First Nations Entrepreneur Hub.

Throughout the day, we gained valuable insights across three key areas essential to strengthening and scaling our impact:
• Business growth and development
• Enhancing business strategy and strategic intent
• Attracting and retaining the right people to support long-term success

It was a day filled with meaningful conversations, practical learnings, and forward-thinking ideas that will continue to shape how we grow and deliver for our community.

We appreciate the opportunity to be part of such an insightful session and look forward to applying these learnings into our work at Yapi Services.

It’s fantastic to see one of our dedicated mentors and support workers, Tyson, stepping into an important space as part of the Credit Union SA Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Advisory Group.

In this role, Tyson will contribute to strengthening Credit Union SA’s Innovate RAP by sharing his lived experience, cultural knowledge, and strong community connections. His voice will play a key role in shaping meaningful actions that support genuine reconciliation and long-term impact.

One of our founders, and a truly dedicated and passionate mentor and support worker, Terrel, has been selected to play his first league game for the Port Adelaide Magpies this weekend.

Terrel’s commitment, discipline, and leadership extend far beyond the field. Every day, he shows up for our young people and community with strength, guidance, and authenticity, and now he gets to showcase that same drive at the next level in footy.

Yapi Services proudly stands in full support of National Close the Gap Day.

Held each year on the third Thursday in March, this important day calls on all Australians to take action toward achieving health equality for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples by 2032.

At Yapi Services, we recognise that a significant gap still exists in health outcomes, life expectancy, education, and overall wellbeing between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. Closing this gap requires more than awareness — it requires genuine action, strong partnerships, and community-led solutions.

We acknowledge the critical role of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) and the importance of ensuring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices are at the centre of policies, programs, and services that impact their lives. Better outcomes are achieved when communities lead the way.

The National Agreement on Closing the Gap, with its 19 socio-economic targets, provides a clear roadmap for change. Through accountability, collaboration, and culturally informed approaches, we can collectively work towards improved life outcomes over the next decade.

🧡 Yapi Services Supports Harmony Week 2026

Harmony Week (16–22 March 2026) is a time to celebrate the rich cultural diversity that brings Australians together. It highlights the importance of inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone, while recognising both multicultural communities and the world’s oldest continuing cultures, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This week also includes Harmony Day on 21 March, which coincides with the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

Did you know Australia is home to over 800 dialects and more than 250 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages are spoken across the country? These figures reflect the diversity that strengthens our communities.

You can show your support by wearing orange, a colour symbolising social communication and meaningful conversations, or by attending or hosting a Harmony Week event in your community.
