Effective from 1 July 2025, we will be increasing the price of our consultations:

CSC $20.00
Non CSC $30.50.

A patient with a Community Services Card will be paying $20.00 (an increase of .50c) whereas a patient without a CSC will increase by $1.00 to $30.50.

Please note that these changes will allow us to continue providing better health services to you.

We wish Dr Ted Pearson a very happy retirement and thank him for all his work and support over the last five years. Best wishes to Ted and his wife for their new life in the South Island ⛵️

All Dr Pearson’s patients will now be registered to Dr Tommy Loeffen-Gallagher.

!! 𝙎𝘾𝘼𝙈 𝘼𝙇𝙀𝙍𝙏 !!

Please be aware that there is a SCAM currently appearing on multiple social media platforms, relating to 𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗲𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

We’re very concerned at the health risks for patients, as the material is sufficiently convincing.

Images and video footage of Professor Rinki Murphy, a diabetes expert at Health NZ and Professor of Medicine at University of Auckland, are being used on social media to promote fake products.

This type of health scam, which is becoming increasingly common, uses artificial intelligence (AI) to create deepfake videos of doctors, especially those who also do research. The doctor’s reputation is used to deceive and persuade people into buying scam products online.

𝗪𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲.

They should never stop taking their regular diabetes medications, unless they have consulted with their medical team. If you are aware of people who have been harmed or lost money in this way, please report the scam to NZ Police.

If your child has not been fully vaccinated for meningococcal B (2 doses 8 weeks apart), please call Bream Bay Medical Centre to make an appointment.

𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝟯𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘃𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽.

The MenB vaccine was added to the National Immunisation Schedule for babies on 1 March 2023. All tamariki under 5 years old can catch up for free. There are also other meningococcal vaccines available for rangatahi 13 to 25 years old in certain close-living situations.
