For those who want to come home over the summer period, the Pā is not fully functional, due to issues with the septic tank.

For those returning for the opening of Rongohaere, accomodation is available from the 31st at Hiruharama. Then from the 1st to the 4th at Rongohaere. Please contact tarshkoia@gmail.com to request accomodation and refer to the previous post on the Rongohaere opening plans.

Also, all Pā wars mahi will be at Rongohaere this year.

For those who wish to stay at Penu over the summer, this is possible for small groups, with under 30 at a time. Please communicate with Te Rina Aupouri for availability:

Our beloved, Mum, Nanny, passed away peacefully on Monday morning at her son Pine’s home in Te Aroha leaving behind her son and mokopuna after living a life that touched so many people. An exemplar of love, service and commitment to her whānau, whanaunga and marae.

Mum will be returned to our marae in Makarika to lay in state before being laid to rest amongst the rest of our whānau at Te Paetahi Urupā.

Nanny Lucky will arrive at Penu at around 4pm tomorrow Tuesday 11th, where she will be until her service and burial on Thursday at 10am
