New Zealand fitness culture is honestly INSANE 😂🔥

A regular mom finishing class…
then staying behind to push a 170kg sled.

And everyone around her cheering her on like it’s normal 😭🔥

People here don’t just “exercise.”
They genuinely enjoy becoming stronger.

This is why I love living in New Zealand 🇳🇿

2 years ago, I met her at F45.
I remember thinking,
“Whoa… she’s so cool.” 😳🔥

At that time, I was 74kg, not confident, and honestly nowhere near the fitness level I’m at now.

But I got brave.
I kept talking to her, invited her for walks, and slowly we became friends.

Back then, we used to WALK together.

Today, for our friendship anniversary, we ran 9km together at the same pace, ate steak, had cake, and celebrated 🥹🎂🥩

Life is actually crazy when you think about it.

People really can change at any age.

And honestly?
When you meet someone who inspires you, don’t be afraid to talk to them.
Be brave.
Build the friendship.
Because the people around you can completely change your life.

Meeting her genuinely changed mine.

Thank you for being part of my journey.
I love you, and I hope we have many more years together ❤️

5AM run club in New Zealand 🌙🏃‍♀️🇳🇿

Ever since I signed up for HYROX Sydney, I knew I had to seriously level up my running.

So here I am… joining a run club at 5AM 😂

Honestly, 5AM feels like the middle of the night.

And these runners are INSANE.

Some people casually run 12km, everyone is so fast, and I’m over here trying to survive 😂

I ran 7km, and wow… the level difference is real.

But something hit me:

The leader of the run club is a mum in her 40s with ABS OF STEEL 🔥

It reminded me how important it is to stay close to people who inspire you.

People who make you think:
“Maybe I can become that version of myself too.”

I’m far from perfect.
My English isn’t perfect.
My running definitely isn’t perfect 😂

But I’m so grateful to be in an environment that pushes me to grow.

One step at a time 🖤

Sometimes NZ gym workouts make me question everything 😂🇳🇿

Today at BFT, we had to swing and rotate a 6kg kettlebell sideways…

And honestly…
I had NO idea what I was doing 😭🤣

Meanwhile everyone around me looked completely normal doing it 💀

Still trying.
Still showing up.
Still training for HYROX 🔥

That’s what matters.

🌊☕️📚

People joke that FIRE life must be boring, lonely, or “too quiet.” 😂

And honestly… I make those jokes too sometimes.

But the truth is,
I genuinely enjoy my alone time.

I live in New Zealand, where the ocean is always nearby.

So these days, my life looks like this:

Listening to the waves,
drinking coffee,
reading books,
and taking naps whenever I feel sleepy.

Before FIRE, I used to stress shop a lot.
Clothes, beauty treatments, little “rewards” for surviving stress.

But after FIRE,
my stress level dropped so much that I barely spend money anymore.

People think FIRE means you need endless money to stay happy.

But honestly?

Having control over your time changes everything.

My happiness level is ridiculously high these days 🌿

My 5-year-old daughter came to watch my HYROX…
and afterwards, she started doing her own “serious HYROX training” at home 😂❤️

I became a mother later in life, so staying healthy and strong for as long as possible matters deeply to me.
That’s one of the reasons I started doing HYROX.

Watching my daughter copy me and say,
“I want to do HYROX with you someday,”
honestly made me emotional.

Sometimes we forget this, but after reaching FIRE, I realized something important:

Money alone doesn’t create happiness.

If your mental health is struggling,
if your body is weak,
if you don’t have the energy to live your life…

then freedom doesn’t feel like freedom.

That’s why I talk about both:
🔥 financial strength
🔥 physical strength

Especially for women.

I truly believe women can become so much stronger — financially, mentally, and physically.

The era of waiting for someone else to save you is over.
Become strong enough to protect your own life ❤️

Ice bath with my gym besties. ❄️

We lived close to each other,
trained at the same gym,
and kept saying,
“See you next week.”

Honestly…
I thought these days would last forever.

But one of my friends moved to Sydney.

And it made me realize something:

We live like the people around us will always be there.

But life changes fast.
People move.
Seasons change.
And suddenly, the little moments you thought were normal become memories.

I’m sad, of course.
But I don’t regret anything.

We trained together.
Laughed together.
Made memories together.

And honestly,
if I was still stuck working nonstop,
always exhausted,
always “too busy,”
I probably wouldn’t have had moments like this.

That’s one of the reasons I chose FIRE.

Not to stop living.
But to actually LIVE.

Spend time with your people while you still can. 🌊

A day in my life after FIRE ✨

Started the day with the gym,
then a sunrise walk by the beach.

Sauna. Ice bath.
Mexican lunch with a friend.
A quiet café and some reading time.
An evening run.
Then picked up my daughter from school 💛

A lot of people think FIRE means “doing nothing.”

Honestly… that’s not what happened to me at all.

When I first achieved FIRE, I thought:
“Wait… I can do whatever I want now?”

I expected I’d want a super flashy lifestyle.
But instead, I started appreciating the simple things more deeply.

Moving my body.
Watching the sunrise.
Having time for people I love.
Reading slowly at a café without stress.

I finally feel like my life is actually mine.

And I’m genuinely grateful for my past self who worked so hard to create this freedom.

But my story didn’t start here.

I used to work in a very intense corporate environment.
I burned out badly.

I made good money, but I had very low self-worth.
So I kept spending money trying to “fix” myself —
degrees, courses, certifications, self-improvement.

I ended up with debt and exhaustion, even though I worked incredibly hard.

That’s why I started learning about money, investing, and building freedom differently.
And eventually, I reached FIRE in about 2.5 years.

Now I share this journey because I want other women to know:

You don’t have to spend your whole life exhausted.
Freedom is possible. 💛

Mother’s Day 🌷

To be honest, family was complicated for me growing up.

We struggled financially, and for a long time, all I wanted was to escape.

You can’t choose the family you are born into.

But you can choose the family you build.

After getting married, I met a mother who calls me “daughter.”
And at 40, I became a mother myself.

Now I’m on the other side of Mother’s Day —
being celebrated instead of only watching from afar.

Life is strange like that.

Yes, Mother’s Day can feel commercial sometimes.
But days like this also remind me to stop and feel grateful for how far life has brought me.

No matter where you are today,
if you still can,
tell your mom you love her. 🌸

And to every mother out there:
thank you for everything.

POV: your HYROX friends finish training… and then voluntarily jump into a 5°C ice bath 🥶😂

I love you guys

New Zealand gym culture is honestly next level 🇳🇿🔥

After intense training, recovery trucks come with ice baths to help reduce inflammation and speed up recovery.
Meanwhile I’m standing there thinking… absolutely not 🤣

But honestly, this is why I love this community.

People here want to get stronger.
Healthier.
Better mentally and physically.

After reaching FIRE, I realized something important:

Money matters.
But health, energy, confidence, and having strong people around you matter too.

Now I’m building both:
a stronger future AND a stronger body 💪🔥

One day I want to build a brand around this lifestyle too 🌏

✨🌊 Morning runs, ocean views, sauna, ice bath… and even a rainbow this morning.
Sometimes I stop and think, “Wow… this is my life now.”

I’m a Japanese woman living in New Zealand 🇯🇵🇳🇿
and I’m so grateful for the beautiful people I’ve met here.

Special thanks to Michelle 🤍

We ran, laughed, chatted, watched the ocean, then finished with sauna + ice bath recovery.

Moments like this remind me that health, friendship, movement, and simple mornings are everything.

Feeling very lucky to call New Zealand home.
Let’s go HYROX Sydney 💪🔥
