A quiet drive in the rain brought a sense of calmness. Along the coast, residents gathered for afternoon tea, watching the restless sea stir old memories. The grey skies didn’t dampen spirits,it's never too wet for an ice cream. Sometimes, a slow drive and the sound of rain on the roof is all the soul needs to feel at peace.

A Surprise Afternoon to Remember!🌷

Our residents absolutely loved our surprise visit to Naki Farm Fun this afternoon! A huge thank you to John for warmly accommodating us and gifting us a bunch of beautiful tulips to brighten up our facility. 🌸

We are truly blessed to be part of such a supportive and caring community here in Taranaki. The joy on our residents’ faces as they admired the stunning tulip fields was absolutely priceless. 💛

On our way back, our van was filled with laughter and singing our own little version of
“Tulips of Taranaki!” 🎶😂

Thank you again, Naki Farm, for the unforgettable experience and for sharing your kindness and colour with us. 🌷

Fun, Fitness & Fur, All in One Day! 🧘‍♂️🐶

Our residents had an absolute blast during our seated exercise session, followed by some heartwarming pet therapy! 💪❤️

The exercises kept everyone moving, smiling, and energized, all while having fun at their own pace. Afterwards, the real stars arrived… our furry friends! 🐕🐾

There were cuddles, laughter, and so many happy faces as the residents bonded with the animals. It was a beautiful reminder of how simple moments like these bring so much joy and connection.

Late Post – Celebrating International Day of Older Persons 🌟

We recently had the pleasure of celebrating the International Day of Older Persons, and what a memorable day it was!

The Stratford District Council organized a wonderful community event that we were proud to attend. The entertainers from Opunake were absolutely amazing and kept everyone smiling. A fun game of bingo with big prizes was a hit; one of our very own residents won, which made it even more special! Everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch and had a lovely opportunity to reconnect with old friends and neighbors. It was heartwarming to see our residents feel so valued and appreciated by the wider community. ❤️

Back at our workplace, we also had our own celebration! Our creative activities team put on a hilarious skit, dressing up as elderly characters to highlight the joys and wisdom that come with aging. We also brought out an old luggage bag filled with treasured memorabilia and antiques. This sparked some beautiful reminiscence moments as residents shared stories and memories from their past, and they truly loved it. 🧳✨

To top it all off, we hosted a fun-filled 50s–80s music quiz that had everyone singing, laughing, and reminiscing. Each resident also received a lovely goodie bag to mark the occasion.

A huge thank you to everyone who made this day so special. It was a celebration of life, laughter, and the incredible stories our older persons carry with them every day. 💛

Thank you, Little Steps, for visiting and making such a beautiful impact on our residents this morning. 💛 They absolutely loved your singing, interaction, playing games, and building puzzles together.Seeing our whānau smiling, laughing, and simply enjoying time with the tamariki was priceless. The joy you brought helped bridge generations in the most natural and meaningful way. One resident even commented on how lovely it was to watch the kids happily munching on fruit kebabs something she hadn't seen in a long time

More birthday vibes with the whānau! 🎉 The celebrations continued with a scenic drive and a relaxing afternoon tea by the beach complete with birthday cake while the sun was still shining. Walking, talking, sharing stories, and just enjoying each other's company made for a full, joyful day of fellowship and connection. So grateful for these moments with our whānau

Mental Health Awareness Week Begins 🌿

We started our Mental Health Awareness Week with our lovely residents enjoying a refreshing morning walk taking in the beauty of Stratford’s scenery, the sound of birds chirping, and flowers blooming all around. 🌸

The morning continued with some gentle seated exercises, filling the room with smiles, laughter, and positive energy. 💚

As we celebrate this week, we are reminded of the

Māori saying:
“He oranga ngākau, he pikinga waiora.”

A healthy heart lifts your wellbeing. 💫

Let’s continue to care for our minds, bodies, and spirits together. 💚
