How I work: Experiential Learning and group-work: Experiential Action methods (including group work, role play and psychodrama) are holistic, effective and enlivening and can be used with individuals and groups. In experiential learning the experience of life is enacted, because 'action speaks louder than words'. It can be used as both a rehearsal and a preparation for living the kind of life you want to live. Experiential Learning offers possibilities for change and human evolution, for individuals, groups and society. Mentoring/Coaching: I provide individual and group mentoring to people in organisations and businesses. I have establised and run several businesses in my earlier working life and have founded and worked in several community organisations. Funding for counselling: Funding may be accessed, if eligibility criteria is met, through a variety of means, including: WINZ, doctor's referral, and some Community based social service agencies. Supervision
I am a qualified supervisor and have enjoyed providing this service to other counsellors, trainee counsellors, teachers and social workers since 1998. Group Workshops: I facilitate group/team sessions and weekend retreats based on my training in Groupwork and Experiential Learning methods.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT WEEKEND

Venue : Rainbow Valley, 750 McCallum Road, Takaka

Starts 7.30pm Friday 7th to Sunday 9th October, 4pm

The aim of this weekend is to provide a supportive space where you can explore the issues that you bring: a place to expand your self-awareness, discover new ways of being and integrate your learning. There will be time for a sauna, relaxation and exploring Rainbow Valley.

Experiential Learning is based on the old truism ‘action speaks louder than words!’ It is a powerful method that incorporates group-work, psychodrama, mindfulness, and body awareness. It is designed to maximise your spontaneity and creativity in order to generate new, effective ways of being, with yourself and in relation to others.

Workshop Leaders: Carol Parkinson-Jones and Simon Jones are both qualified counsellors and therapists: ‘Our time in intentional community spans a period of forty years. We have worked as mental health therapists, counsellors and group leaders for twenty five years. We love to facilitate group processes, and find this work immensely enriching and rewarding’.
