This has definitely been me this week. First ‘proper’ workout since lockdown (also due to me falling through the ceiling and hurting my arm 😀) was on Monday. Since Monday I have had the rule, if something falls on the ground it wasn’t that important to me to begin with 😂

This is an interesting systematic review as it goes against general public perception, and even the views of a lot of health practitioners.

“Clinical trials don’t support the public’s positive perception of coconut oil, a recent systematic review and meta-analysis suggests. The study, published in Circulation, found that compared with other vegetable oils, coconut oil increases low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C)—the “bad” kind that ups cardiovascular disease risk—while offering no improvements to weight, blood glucose, or inflammation markers.”

This Medical News article discusses a recent review of 17 clinical trials comparing the effects of coconut oil and other vegetable oils on cardiovascular disease risk factors.

Over this period try to eat clean nutritious meals to stay strong and healthy. Aim for fresh fruit and vegetables with lots of fibre when possible. Avoid processed food and foods high in sugar as they have been shown to suppress our immune system. Keep your water intake up!

Also there are some supplements we recommend to help boost your immunity. These are

1. Vitamin D3
2. Omega 3
3. Zinc
4. Vitamin C
5. Probiotics

During the lockdown over consuming calories is often a big concern. To curb or reduce this you can try fasting. By adding in a 16-17 hour fast each night, you can drastically reduce your potential feeding window and therefore lowering your overall calories. Along with this add in some or all of the above supplements, more fibre and quality protein and consume 2-3litres of water per day.

Yesterday, with the help of my boys, I designed a little fitness circuit for the kids around the neighbourhood. Thought those of you with kids might be interested in doing something similar.

Feel free to change any of the exercises as well

Remember to use sanitiser or wash hands immediately after as well.
