Today is Restart a Heart Day!
Let's talk about something that might seem scary at first, using a defibrillator. Here's the thing you don't actually need a medical degree to use one. AEDs were created with regular people like us in mind.
During our First Aid sessions you can see the hesitition when learners are first introduced to an AED, amazingly though once they understand how these devices work, that fear just melts away.
If your intrested in learning more we can show you the ropes with real, practical First Aid training.

Safe On Site are excited to announce Myriam Mitchell will be presenting at our Safety Forum next month.

Myriam has over 17 years experience in employment, health and safety, insurance law and dispute resolution. Myriam has appeared in the Employment Relations Authority, Employment Court, District and High Courts and her significant litigation experience means she has strong advocacy and negotiation skills. She advises on all aspects of employment law and regularly provides strategic legal advice on health and safety issues, acts for employers throughout WorkSafe's investigation process, and provides representations in prosecutions through to sentencing.

At the Forum, Myriam will cover:
Case law & enforcement in action – recent prosecutions involving multiple PCBUs.
Personal liability – when directors, managers, or officers could be held accountable.

One for the ‘you couldn’t make this up’ file. Rescue helicopters have been called out to landfills because old locator beacons in the rubbish turned themselves on. An unusual, but important reminder to deregister and disable old equipment before disposal.

Personal locater beacons that aren't disposed of properly have gone off in landfills.
