Kia ora ✨
A little peek into my day as a mobile massage therapist…

This is the kind of space I work with when I come into your home 👇
Living room or bedroom—it doesn’t need to be a big area, just enough space for me to set up and move around the table comfortably.

I bring everything with me:
• Massage table
• Fresh linen & blankets
• Oils
• Towels
• Bolsters for support
• Everything needed to create a comfortable setup

A question I get asked a lot is, “is your table heavy?”
For me, it’s part of the job so I’m used to it 😊
But in saying that, I don’t expect (or want) you to lift it for me. Not because I don’t appreciate the help—but because I’d rather you stay safe and leave that part to me.
Your job is simple… clear a small space, relax, and let me take care of the rest ✨

That’s what my day to day looks like—bringing everything to you so you can stay in the comfort of your own home before, during, and after your session.

If you’ve been wondering whether your space is “enough”… this is your sign 😉

Hands up if you’ve ever had pain in one tiny spot in your lower back… 🙋‍♀️

You point to it — left side or right side — and it feels so specific. But what I often find (not always, but a lot of the time)… it’s not just that spot. It can run from the leg, up through the hip, into the lower back, travel through the mid-back, and even show up in the shoulders or head.

That’s the power of fascia. That connective web through your body means one small restriction can create a ripple effect — sometimes it only takes one tight or overloaded area to throw everything else off.

So when I’m working with “lower back pain,” I’m not just staying where you point. I’m checking:
– Glutes (max, med, piriformis)
– Hamstrings
– Adductors
– Hip flexors
– QLs
– Iliopsoas (linking upper and lower body)

Because the body is smart — it compensates. And those compensations can be the real reason that one spot is flaring up.

I’m also thinking about: Your nervous system Stored tension and emotions How your body is responding, protecting, holding Because it’s never just physical.

So if one little spot feels like it’s taking you out… just know there’s usually more to the story. And that’s what I’m here to work through with you 🤍

Kia ora whānau 🤍

I’ve been doing a bit of reflecting lately, and I just want to take a moment to appreciate every single one of you who trusts me with your body and your journey.

To my regulars — watching your progress has been something special. I know at the start it can feel uncomfortable, sometimes even a bit tough, but seeing the difference between where you began and where you are now is powerful. That consistency is paying off, and you should be proud of yourselves.

I’m also really grateful for the connections we build in the room — the chats, the banter, the real moments. It’s not just about massage for me, it’s about understanding you and tailoring each session to what your body actually needs.

You’ve all helped me grow too — not just in my work, but as a person. And that means a lot.

To my new clients — welcome! I’m looking forward to getting to know you, supporting your journey, and building that same trust and connection.

Thank you for choosing me, for showing up for yourselves, and for allowing me to be part of your journey 🤍

Kia ora 🤍

Something I’ve been noticing more and more in my work as a massage therapist is how deeply the nervous system and the body are connected.

Sometimes it’s not just “tight muscles.”
It’s a body that’s holding on… a nervous system that’s overwhelmed, overstimulated, or simply exhausted.

I often see this show up as muscles that won’t soften, areas that stay guarded, or a body that feels like it’s constantly bracing.

In those moments, I don’t rush in to “fix” anything.

I take a step back.

I listen.

I create space for you to be heard, because in my experience, that’s often what’s been missing. Many people I meet have been carrying a lot on their own for a long time.

Before we even begin the massage, I focus on helping your body feel safe:
– slowing everything down
– encouraging deep, steady breathing
– allowing your system to settle

During the session, I’m not just working on muscles — I’m checking in, adjusting, and moving at a pace your body is ready for.

Sometimes that means going slower.
Sometimes it means spending more time in one area.
Sometimes it means simply holding space.

Because when the nervous system starts to relax, the body often follows.

I’m not here to replace medical care — I’m here to support you, to listen, and to work with your body, not against it.

You’re not just a “tight shoulder” or a “sore back.”
You’re a whole person — and you deserve to be treated that way.

🤍

Kia ora everyone 👋

Today I want to walk you through the muscles I’m working on when I treat the shoulder and upper back area.

When I’m working through here, I’m not just focusing on one spot — I’m treating the whole connected system.
Starting from under the arm, we’ve got the lats — the latissimus dorsi — which play a big role in shoulder movement and stability.
Moving into the upper back, I work through the rhomboids, which help pull the shoulder blades together, and the infraspinatus and supraspinatus, which are part of your rotator cuff and super important for shoulder support and function.

Then coming up into the upper traps, where a lot of us hold tension — especially from stress or posture — and right up into the base of the skull.

Around the shoulder itself, I’m working through the deltoids, as well as the teres major and minor, helping to support movement and release tightness through the joint.

There's so many muscles if you can see the image that can compensate from one area.

Everything here is connected — so by working through all these muscles together, we can improve movement, reduce tension, and help your body feel more balanced overall.

I had the privilege of doing a beautiful energy exchange with Laur Crittenden yesterday, experiencing her float tank for the first time… and wow 🤍

Moments like this are such a powerful reminder that as healers, we also need to receive. To slow down, to reconnect, and to pour back into ourselves.

Connection, community, and self-care aren’t luxuries—they’re essential.

Feeling deeply replenished and grateful ✨

Today I want to introduce you to someone very special – this is Elsie. She is 97 years young and one of the most inspiring women I have the privilege of working with.
Elsie lives independently at Summerset retirement village. She doesn’t need a walking stick or a walker, and she shows up for herself every single day. She understands the importance of massage, breathing well, keeping her body moving, and looking after her health.
What I admire most about Elsie isn’t just her physical strength – it’s her mindset. She has no excuses, only gratitude. She never talks about herself as “old” and always says, “I really can’t complain.” Her belief in healing and in taking care of her body is powerful.
I love our in-depth conversations about health, the body, and life. Every session with her reminds me how much our attitude shapes our wellbeing. Honestly, I often have to remind myself she is 97!
Clients like Elsie are the reason I do what I do. Proof that it’s never too late to care for yourself, move your body, breathe deeply, and choose a positive mindset.
Thank you for inspiring me, Elsie 💛
