This has been my mantra for the last 20 years. As in Arnold's words - "where the mind goes the body will follow."

Stop following a diet
Start using tools and guidelines
If you want successful long term weight loss then understanding the value of your nutrition and how it fits into your lifestyle is the key.
Many people say they “eat well” or they ‘eat pretty healthy” but without actually tracking what "well or healthy" is, how do you actually know.

Guidelines, by definition –“a cord or rope to aid a passer over a difficult point” provides the structure and the Tools, by definition - “something that is used to do a job or activity" .. and helps achieve the end result, provides the method.
To achieve successful weight management, simple tools and guidelines can help to give an understand of how you eat and you may realise that you actually do "eat well over what you should be" and your food is "pretty"😊 but not healthy.
Tools:
Calorie Counting app
Bathroom Scales
Kitchen Scales
Journaling
Guidelines
Acceptance
Understanding Nutritional Labels
Eliminate or reduce Sugar
Eliminate or reduce alcohol
Understand fatty fats
Understand what Macros are
Portion Size v serving size
Labels/Ingredients

Because without these tools and guidelines, even following a diet, you are just guessing that you are "eating healthy".
I can provide you with the tools and guidelines and also show you how to effectively use them. Declutter the myths around dieting. It is not that complicated.

Understanding your thoughts become your words, your words become your actions and your actions become your habits. Habits can derail your fitness journey.

TAKE CONTROL
MAYBE IT’S AS SIMPLE AS THAT!

Globalisation has enabled us to get instant answers to any question we want to find the answer to. In health and fitness there is so much information out there that I believe people are getting more confused than ever about what is ‘good’ ‘bad’ ‘best’ ‘worst’.

If we take a step back from everything, empty your mind from what we have read and observe our thoughts, feelings, beliefs, ideals from a distance, without judging them as good or bad – you will realise that like money – food is not good or bad – it is what we do with it and how we use it is important.

I have a theory that you can eat anything you like, as long as it is relevant to what you want to achieve. If your goal is to lose weight, then you need to eat and train appropriately, accordingly if you want to gain muscle, also need to eat and train appropriately. Vague – not really, if you become ‘actively aware” of what you are doing, instead of blinding following what you read or have been told, you will learn what your body needs.

You don’t need a book to tell you – your body will. Feeling sluggish, bloated take your food back to the basics – and start from there – don’t want to – then there is your reason for not succeeding in your goals.
