A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the Matua Village Gala Day last weekend! It’s always a joy to celebrate the incredible spirit of our community, and seeing so many families there made it extra special.

From sunny smiles to painted faces, fun games, tasty treats, and plenty of laughter—memories were definitely made!

There’s something pretty special about growing older with your sister by your side 🩷🩷

At Matua Village, two sisters are doing just that - living independently in their own homes, but close enough to share morning cuppas, afternoon walks, and plenty of laughs in between.

We're more than just a village – We're a welcoming community

At Matua Village, life is about far more than beautiful homes and peaceful surroundings. It’s about connection to one another, to family, and to the wider Matua community.

Friendships flourish here. Residents head out together for local outings, coffee catch-ups and community events, staying actively engaged with the places and people they’ve always loved. The local community and family is at the heart of Matua Village life.

Children and grandchildren are always welcome, popping in after school, sharing weekend lunches, celebrating birthdays, or simply spending time together. The laughter of little ones is something the community embraces, not just accommodates.

That spirit comes to life each year at the much-loved Annual Matua Family Gala Day, coming up next Saturday March 14th.

It’s a true celebration of community - residents, families and locals together for a vibrant day of live music, local artists, food stalls, face painting and games for the kids. It’s joy all in one place.

Our monthly calendar for March is FULL of weekly fun, exciting outings, and our annual Gala Day to look forward to!

📚 The mobile library will be in the Village on the 3rd and 24th to grab a new read for the week!
🎵 Our monthly Big Day Out on the 4th is taking us to the Operatunity for their most extravagant show ever!
🎤 Our guest speaker for this month is Rachel from Tauranga Repair Café. Have you got an item that needs a repair? Or maybe you have the skills and time to volunteer at the Repair Café! Come along to meet Rachelon the 10th and hear all about it.
🎪 Our annual Gala Day is back on Saturday 14th March, a day of fun for all the family!
🍦 Mrs Whippy will be here on the 24th serving up the soft serves!
🥂 It's Happy Hour on the 25th! Cheers to that!

Our team are as much a part of the family as our residents. It's how we maintain such a close-knit, friendly and caring environment.

Meet Mark, our Maintenance Manager. Mark looks after all things maintenance at Matua Village - and if something needs fixing, chances are he can sort it. From everyday repairs to bigger projects, no job is ever a problem, and he approaches everything with a calm, practical, can-do attitude.

Super caring and genuinely invested in our residents, Mark takes pride in making sure everything is safe, well maintained, and working exactly as it should. And while he’s busy keeping things in top shape, you’ll often catch his cheeky sense of humour brightening someone’s day.

We’re incredibly lucky to have someone so dependable, capable, and kind as part of our village family.

Whether it's a friendly smile at the entrance, a reassuring presence during challenging times, or the exra mile taken to ensure your comfort, our team always go above and beyond ... because that's just the Matua Village way.
