So Ive had a bit of a name change, what do we think??๐Ÿ™‚
What is Musculoskeletal massage you ask?

Musculoskeletal Therapy primarily focuses on joints, fascia and nervous system (rather than deep work into muscles). When applied masterfully, it is an incredibly effective form of therapy on its own, as well as being very complimentary to deep tissue/ sports massage therapy.

Our Musculoskeletal therapy consists of three primary skill sets; "mobilisation" to test and improve joint articulation, "myofascial release" to improve fascial function, and "neuromuscular facilitation" to ease muscle tension.

Suitable for people of all ages and lifestyles wanting to take the best care of their body (athletes, non-athletes, chronic pain, chronic injury, training recovery, aches, pains, tension, postural rehab, sporting event prep, recent injury recovery, surgery, stroke, scoliosis).

It can help improve postural alignment, increase flexibility and joint range of motion, release soft tissue tension and any nerve related symptoms, eliminate myofascial trigger points and any referred pain symptoms, release muscle spasms and promote good biomechanics.

โ€‹Techniques can include:

Postural Analysis, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial release, Strengthening, Stretching

NERVOUS SYSTEM RESET ๐Ÿ˜Š

โœจ Your Nervous System Begins at the Top of Your Spineโ€ฆ and So Does Your Healing โœจ

Most people donโ€™t realize that the very top of the spine โ€” C1 (Atlas) and C2 (Axis) โ€” holds the master switch for the entire nervous system.
When these two tiny vertebrae are under tension, compressed, or stressed, the whole body feels it.

This area controls:
๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ Cerebrospinal fluid flow
๐Ÿง  Brainstem and vagus nerve regulation
โœจ Blood flow to and from the brain
๐Ÿ’› Your ability to rest, pause, and feel safe

When C1 & C2 are overwhelmed, you may experience:
โ€ข Headaches or migraines
โ€ข Anxiety or feeling โ€œon alertโ€
โ€ข Dizziness or brain fog
โ€ข Neck tension
โ€ข Difficulty relaxing
โ€ข A constant sense of bracing

When this gateway opens, something beautiful happens:
Your brain receives the signal that youโ€™re safe.
The body stops bracing.
CSF begins to move again.
The vagus nerve softens.
And your entire system shifts from survivalโ€ฆ into healing.

This is why people often sigh, melt, tear up, or feel waves through their whole body during Neuromuscular and Musculoskeletal Massage.
Itโ€™s not โ€œjust relaxation.โ€
Itโ€™s a deep nervous system reset that starts right at the top of your spine.

Your body wants to heal.
Sometimes it just needs an invitation to pause ๐Ÿ˜Š

Magnesium and the Vagus Nerve!

The vagus nerve is the 10th cranial nerve, extending from the brain through the cervical spine, heart, lungs, and gastrointestinal system. It is the control center of the parasympathetic nervous system, which activates our rest and digest state โ€” the state from which we achieve optimal health and wellbeing.

The vagus nerve is responsible for transmitting instructions from our brain to many organs in the body, including the heart, lungs, stomach, and intestines. We often think of our brain as the control center of the body, but the gut, for example, has just as much input on how the body responds to certain stimuli (like food).

For example, if the gut is inflamed, the vagus nerve can sense and communicate that information to the brain (sometimes resulting in symptoms like brain fog).

The vagus is very sensitive to stress, and long periods of physical, mental, or emotional stress will very likely impact its function.

Thatโ€™s where magnesium comes in, indirectly supporting the vagus nerve it aids the body in relaxing by activating the parasympathetic nervous system.
Magnesium plays a part in regulating melatonin - the hormone responsible for making you feel sleepy and overall helps bring a sense of calm.

This is another reason why I recommend my Magesium products I sell.....
Sound like something you need in your life? Let me no when you're next in. I highly recommend them and so do many of my clients!! ๐Ÿ˜Š
