Hi, it’s Kahu here again. 🐾 Just a quick update from me because things are so exciting right now. 🎉
The first exciting thing is that Mama said I can run my own business from home. 🏡 All the proceeds are going to be donated to Livvy’s Pals to help dogs in need. 🐶💛 You can all help me out with this if you want. I’m selling Kahu’s Dog and Rabbit Chews!!! 🦴🐇 Mama looked it up on the computer 💻 and said that olive is the best wood for chews for dogs because it’s non-toxic and it doesn’t splinter. She only found out because Gigi and I kept thinking that the box of wood in the house by the fire was a dog toy box. 🔥 We didn’t realise it was firewood and have been having a wonderful time chewing on pieces of hazel. 🌿 When Mama looked that up on the computer, it said it’s non-toxic, but olive is better because it’s a softer wood that doesn’t splinter. And Mama knows that rabbits LOVE hazel chews and they are completely safe for them. 🐰💚
If you would like to buy some chews, let Livvy know whether your dog is small, medium, large, or extra-large, 🐕 or whether you are buying for a rabbit, 🐇 and how many chews you want. She will get them to you. I’ve decided to make them available for koha to keep them affordable for everyone, while still raising money for Livvy’s Pals, 🐾 because it costs lots for Livvy to get us dogs ready for our forever homes. 🏠
Mama and Dad had some fun making a cool platform for Livvy’s rescue bunny, Koru. 🐇✨ If you have a rabbit and want to give them hours of enrichment with a hazel platform, you can put in an order for one. They cost a bit more because Mama and Dad have to harvest all the hazel and then build the platform. 🛠️
We had a great day on Tuesday. Livvy came to visit! 💕 We had a nice walk with one of the dogs she is boarding 🚶♀️🐕 and had lots of giggles hauling all the dogs out from under the house for Livvy to sell to raise more money for Livvy’s Pals. 🐾 Watch this space… 👀
Mama, Dad, and I went to Brain Games the other night and it was so much fun. 🧩 Initially, it was a bit overwhelming because I thought I was there to play with all the other dogs, 🐕🐕🐕 but Bex said I couldn’t and that I had to concentrate on the games we were playing. I learnt lots, and Mama and Dad learnt even more — Bex is really training them more than me. 🤭 Gigi is right, Brain Games is awesome because you get lots of treats 🍪 and do fun stuff. I’m learning to follow a lure, go between Mama and Dad’s legs to be in a safe space, find food under plant pots, and turn around in a circle. 🔄 Mama is already thinking about enrolling me in “Brain Games Too,” because in that one I would learn how to find her keys 🔑 and her phone. 📱 I don’t get why she doesn’t just have a place to put them as she’s always losing them! 😅
I’ve been having so much fun helping Mama sew. 🧵✂️ Well, actually, I’m not at all helpful, but it’s a whole lot of fun rolling around on the fabric while Mama is trying to cut it! I have also had fun taking the cover off my new chair (thanks for the chair, Gigi, it’s great). 🪑💛 Mama did a big sigh 😅 when she saw me and said she’ll have to make a fitted cover for the chair when she’s finished making the cover for my crate. 🛏️
Mama and I went to visit Livvy and her family and we had so much fun. 🌟 Mama and Dad packed up the motorhome 🚐 with all the dogs that have been living under their house for the last 16 years (the previous vendor left them in the house when she moved out), and Mama and I headed for Livvy’s place. Livvy is selling the dogs to raise money for Livvy’s Pals. 💰🐾 It was so funny — Livvy told Mama that she would meet us at the dog park, but Mama couldn’t find one. 🤔 Eventually, Mama realised that Livvy sees every park as a dog park. 🌳🐕 I had so much fun playing with Buddy Joe, but Boss was a grumpy dude 😅 so I didn’t get to play with him. Mama took 17-year-old Zion for a walk, 🦮 and it took her a while to realise that since he’s blind, she needed to be his eyes 👀 and guide him around things like parked cars so he didn’t bump into them. 🚗 Mama went op-shopping on the way home 🛍️ and got a couple of duvet covers that she’s going to turn into doggy-themed quilts to raise money for Livvy’s Pals. 🛏️❤️🐶
Ok, that’s almost it from me as I’ve got a busy few days. 📅 I’m off for a playdate today with some of my friends, 🐾 then tomorrow I have a playdate with Henna. 🐶 And I’m excited because I am going to have a new foster sister soon — I can’t wait to meet her. 💓
I’ve saved the BEST news for last. 🎉 Mama and Dad have decided to officially make me part of their whānau. 🏡💞 I’m no longer their foster — I’m adopted, I’m their FOREVER dog. 🐕💖 I couldn’t be happier.
