It’s hard to wrap our heads around an event of this magnitude. The landslide has consumed me since Thursday and I know many others join me there. My heart aches for the families and friends of those involved, the first responders and rescue teams. There are no words to try to describe the unimaginable pain, the waiting, the tragedy 💔
This photo is from a morning walk with JS Ceramics, on which we were talking about the greater impact to our community. Mount Maunganui volcano is the heart and soul here. There is huge grief in being without our Mauao. It is a place of connection, healing, self love, solitude, restoration and strength. It is vital to the mental health and wellbeing to so many.
I hope in time that we can find a way to share in his sacredness once more 🤎✨
Sending loving energy to all those hurting 🫶🏻xx
