So excited to be going to Europe today. A 36 hour stopover in Doha. An Intrepid tour of the Balkans. Time in Prague and Vienna then a Viking cruise on the Danube.

In January I was the funeral celebrant for an adored grandmother. Yesterday I was with the family again as they farewelled their amazing Dad. I will always cherish the time I had with him as he told me his life story and gave me a history lesson about Mt Maunganui. He was comforted thinking he was going to meet his wife again at the Rainbow Bridge. This job is such a privilege. Rest in love Dan

Handfasting or ‘tying the knot’ for a couple who are leaders in the Rover Scouts made me smile to myself. Surely they know their knots better than I do? Handfasting is a symbolic ritual, particularly popular in Celtic traditions, where the hands of two individuals are bound together with cords or ribbons, signifying their commitment and joining of lives. Two years after booking with me, Trinity and Chris were married. During that time we had met a few times, communicated often and I was in awe of the details and DIY that Trinity was enjoying. Staying on to be their MC and coordinator was fun! It was great to be able to see her vision and ideas happening, while the couple danced and relaxed.
