You’re showing up, day after day, in a thousand unseen ways.

Of course you’re tired.

But tired doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong.
Tired means you’re loving, caring, nurturing.

Because this kind of tired isn’t laziness.
It’s love.
It’s presence.
It’s being attuned to someone else’s needs from sun-up to sun-down.

Maternal fatigue isn’t a sign that you’re failing.
It’s a sign that your brain, your body, and your nervous system are working hard to co-regulate, to soothe, to show up again and again and again ❤️

You’re not tired because you’re doing it wrong. You’re tired because you care.

So if you’re looking for a sign that you’re enough? This is it, Mama 💜

Sleeping through the night isn’t the gold standard for babies - it’s a modern myth.

Night waking is protective, connection-building, and completely normal.

You’re not doing anything wrong, Mama 💜

You’ve heard it before:
“If you respond every time, they’ll learn to manipulate you”.

But here’s the truth: Your baby isn’t manipulating you, they’re depending on you.

Manipulation requires cognitive skills like planning, intent, and strategy. Your baby’s brain just isn’t there yet. Not even close.

Their cries, their clinginess, the way they want to be held all the time - it’s not a trick.
It’s biology.
It’s survival.
It’s the nervous system asking, “Am I safe?”

And every time you respond, you’re wiring their brain for safety, trust, and emotional regulation 🧠

You’re not creating bad habits.
You’re building a foundation for lifelong mental health.

You’re not spoiling your baby.
You’re showing them the world is safe, starting with you 💜

Constant stimulation can tip their little brain into overwhelm 🧠

But short cycles of engagement and rest? That’s where attention, focus, and resilience are built. Research on infant attention shows babies learn best in short bursts of interaction, followed by breaks 🌱

So next time you worry you’re “not doing enough”, remember: it’s not about filling every minute. It’s about the rhythm of play and pause.

The Pinterest boards.
The cake ideas.
The pressure to make it *perfect* - even though your baby won’t remember a thing 💁🏻‍♀️

But YOU will.
So if you’re going all in? Go for it.
And if you keep it simple? That’s beautiful too.

Because the most important part is already happening, Mama. You made it through year one. That’s the real milestone 💜

What kind of first birthday are you planning: big bash or backyard vibes?

You imagined you’d feel more sure by now.
More settled.
Like you’d grow into motherhood the way you grow into a new pair of shoes - awkward at first, but then it fits.

But this first year is full of quiet identity shifts no one prepares you for..
The guilt.
The overstimulation.
The pressure to be grateful, even when it’s hard.
And the strange grief of not feeling like yourself, even when you’re surrounded by love.

This post is a letter from the version of you who didn’t know what was coming.
Not to shame you, but to honour how far you’ve come.
To name what’s hard, even when no one else sees it.

You don’t have to feel like “you” all the time to be a good mum. You already are 💜

What would your younger self be surprised to learn about motherhood?

They finally roll over… and then stop sleeping 🤦🏼‍♀️
Milestones are magic, but they often come with chaos. Every new skill lights up your baby’s brain in incredible ways, and sometimes sleep takes a backseat 🫠

A simple way to help? Let your baby practise the new skill during the day. It gives their brain time to process, which can make it easier to rest at night.

You can also try slowing things down before bedtime. A calm, familiar rhythm can help settle that wired little body.

You’re not doing anything wrong. This is a normal phase, and it won’t last forever Mama!

What milestone has shaken up sleep at your house recently?
