IT’S NEVER TOO LATE TO START – MY TOP TIPS FOR FEELING FABULOUS IN 2026!
We are on the downhill slide to a new year! A brand new, fresh canvas, just waiting for you to colour in.
A new year is the perfect time to start investing in your most precious, valuable asset – your health. Yes, the boat, holiday home and brand-new pair of shoes that will surely change your life are cool too, but it’s all pointless if you don’t have the energy and vitality to enjoy them.
So many people think there’s an expiration date on being healthy, strong, and brimming with energy, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. The moment you decide to show up for yourself is the moment things begin to change. It doesn’t matter how old you are, what yesterday looked like, or how many times you’ve ‘started over’.
What matters is that you’re willing to begin again.
Being healthy isn’t about chasing perfection or comparing yourself to anyone else. It’s about making choices that support your energy, your mindset and your future. It’s about discovering just how capable you are when you give yourself permission to grow. Health isn’t just physical – it’s built through consistency, patience and self-respect.
You don’t need to do everything at once. Small steps add up. One workout, one walk, one nourishing meal, one positive choice at a time. Those choices compound, and before you know if, you’re standing stronger – inside and out.
And to get you started for a brand-new year on the right foot, here are my top tips for getting your health and vitality on the right track:
💥 Stop looking for fads, quick fixes and trendy diets as the magic bullet. There is no magic bullet. Long term health and wellness take commitment, discipline and consistency.
💥 Take a sensible and sustainable approach to your health and understand that wellness means getting a few essential puzzle pieces in place – namely nutrition, sleep, gut health, exercise, and addressing the root cause of stress.
💥 Resist taking advice from well-meaning friends and family who may have an approach that ‘works’ for them but may be entirely unsuitable for you.
💥 Choose your hard. Pain is hard. Illness is hard. Discipline and consistency are hard. Choose your hard.
💥 Understand that your body is not faulty, is not attacking itself, and is not at the mercy of your genes. Lifestyle factors account for 95% of poor health.
💥 Accept that good health is a lifelong journey. It requires showing up for yourself every day. It cannot be achieved in 2 weeks or 12 weeks or even 12 months, then forgotten about as you go back to your old habits.
💥 Get rid of mindset traps around rigidity and going in 100%. For health to be sustainable, you must have a good balance. That means being able to relax, let your hair down and enjoy your favourite treats from time to time.
💥 Trust that your body is very intelligent and knows how to be well. It just needs the right tools and support to help it repair, recover and thrive.
💥 Everybody has free will to choose their own path. If you’re not happy with the path you’re on, you need to do something completely different than what you’re doing now. Nothing changes if nothing changes.
💥 Decide. That’s it. Decide that you’re going to take your health seriously and commit to doing the work necessary to be and feel the best you can be. 80% of your results are in your head, the rest is just following through with the required steps.
