UPDATE: Due to unforeseen circumstances, we will be extending the Tertiary Education Grant applications for 1 week only, final closing date for the Grants will be on the 29th March 2023 at 4pm

Kia ora everyone

We're experiencing storm surges, strong winds and heavy rain in some parts of Tauranga, which have caused some erosion along parts of the coastline. This coupled with a 2am high tide may cause flooding in low-lying, harbourside and coastal areas.

If you feel unsafe, we recommend you stay with friends and family if possible.

As a precaution, Baypark Stadium at 81 Truman Lane is available for emergency shelter in case people need to evacuate.

The following marae are also welcoming the public who need shelter:
Tamapahore Marae: 46 Tareha Lane, Mangatawa
Huria Marae: 1 Te Kaponga Street, Brookfield
Hungahungatoroa Marae: 29a Hungahungatorora Road, Matapihi
Whetu Marae: 612 Welcome Bay Road

Make sure to take everything you need, such as:

Clothes
Food and snacks
Medication
Prescription glasses
Sleeping bag
Pillow

Pets 🐹🐭are welcome at Baypark (They will have to stay in your vehicle)
