Pets in Peace

Pets in Peace Pets in Peace is a Pet Funeral company that acts as an agent for cremations by Pet Farewells and we off Funeral or Memorial Services for Pets/Pet Owners.

Pets in Peace is a small Tauranga based Company owned and operated by Martin and Viv Elliott. It began when our family Pet – an elderly golden retriever named Baxta was seriously ill. Martin, who has been a funeral Celebrant for 25 years decided that when Baxta passed away he would do a Funeral Service for his best mate, and would invite family to the Service. The purpose was to honour Bax and to

celebrate his life; and also to start the process of grief and healing for those of us who loved Bax. We quickly realised that there were many people – pet lovers, who unashamedly felt like us and so Martin extended his human funeral celebrancy role to include pet funeral services and thus Pets in Peace was born. A living memorial to Bax!. Our geographic base for Pet owner assistance is, the greater Bay of Plenty. However we will also be available, on request; to pet owners who need our help in the greater Waikato region. Details of Martins human Funeral Services can be read at martin@celebrant-bop.com and can be viewed on Facebook or at 0212 458 489

WINTER APPROACHING PET CARE VERY IMPORTANT.
With winter approaching (is it here?) Pet owners must be vigilant in caring for their Pets. As Marty the Celebrant of Pets in Peace I see and hear of dogs left outside in cold wet conditions, unable to find shelter.
In many families Mum and Dad go to work and the kids go off to school each day. The Pet dog is left at home tied up or restricted to the back yard.
In winter this is a basic need of every dog and if you don't have a dog shelter or retreat in your back yard you are irresponsible and don't deserve having a pet dog.

Its a huge responsibility owing a dog. Think carefully before you have a dog as a family Pet.

At Pets in Peace we are available when that sad time comes and your pet (Dog or Cat) passes away. I can come to your home and pick your Pet up and arrange for its cremation. I then bring the ashes back to you.
The cost varies for every Pet. Cremation costs vary according to the weight of your Pet. An Urn for the ashes varies according to what you choose. The uplift cost is normally $70-$80.

So if your dog dies or has an accident call me and I can assist you at this time

PETS AND THE ONSET OF WINTER. With the weather changing in Autumn all Pet owners need to think more responsibly about their Pets. The colder weather with more frequent rain mean we need to ensure pets are safe and warm at all times. Too frequently I see dogs chained to fences or houses unable to shelter when it rains.
Our Pets need the same care and consideration as our families because our Pets are our families.

If you have an older dog or cat keep an eye on their breathing as they can get infections just like we humans.

In that sad event you lose your Pet to sickness or old age or accident call me. I am Martin of Pets in Peace and I can pick your pet up and arrange its cremation. I then bring the ashes back to you

Wandering Pets
I am Marty of Pets in Peace and I respond to calls from families when their pet has been hit by a vehicle. Over the last two months I have been called out to assist a number of families with pets who have been hit by vehicles. Too many in fact.

Cats are wanderers and very hard to contain in your property but they can be kept inside at night, a time of many cat accidents.

There is no excuse though if your dog is run over out on the road. All dogs should be restrained in your property; day or night; or on a lead.

Pet owners can save themselves a lot of grief by being more careful with their pets and vet bills and cremations can be expensive so saving a lot of money.

If you do need me to come to your home as your pet has died or been involved in an accident ring me on 0212458489

THE DEATH OF A PET!!
Yesterday I received a call from a distraught cat owner to tell me her 11 year old Pet cat had been hit by a car.

I quickly responded and drove to her place to pick up her friend. Understandably she was very upset so I spent time talking to her about her Pet. She smiled and laughed telling me about her good friend Pixie.

When she was ready together we placed Pixie into a special carry bag. I sang a Waiata to release Pixies spirit, then we carried her to my car.

I have arranged for Pixie to be cremated and then on Tuesday will return Pixies ashes to the owner.

My role then as a Pet Celebrant is to make this very sad occasion as good as I can and bring a sense of peace to the owner of the Pet.

Call me if I can help you

WINTER AND OUR PETS
With the weather deteriorating and the onset of cold wet days and nights, it is timely that I remind Pet Owners of their responsibilities to their pets. Like we humans, dogs and cats need warmth and shelter. As Pets age and develop ailments or physical infirmity they need extra care and support - again just like us.
In my role as a Celebrant with a special interest in Pets refer to Pets In Pets in Peace I see and hear far too many examples of Pets being neglected. Its bad enough that they are not provided with adequate food and water but the deprivation of shelter and warmth makes me really wonder why some people have Pets.
Love and human companionship are just as important as Food, Water, Shelter and Warmth.
I specialise in assisting families when their Pet passes away. I am a Pet Funeral Director. I will come to your place, pick up your pet, arrange for cremation, and return your Pets ashes in an Urn of your choosing.
Lets hope in these winter months you dont need my assistance to give your Pet the RESPECT it deserves

Testimonial for Marty Pets in Peace
Marty – thanks for the way you handled the collection of our pup Kai today. As you would have noticed we weren’t ready to say goodbye.
The Waiata and explanation helped a lot, at a very difficult time.
We really appreciated it.
