We are so proud to announce that our superstar physio, Bryna, has officially completed her mat Pilates certification!

Over the last 6-8 weeks, Bryna has dedicated 40 hours to intensive learning and is now fully certified to teach. She’ll be sharing her expertise with our team to ensure you get the absolute best from your Pilates sessions.

A huge congratulations to Bryna on this fantastic achievement and all her hard work! 🌟

Ever thought how far you should be running a week?

Unless you’re a marathon runner, there’s not much evidence about how far exactly you should be running! It’s quite individual!

We see that beginner runners are more likely to get injured - probably because they do too much too quick πŸ“ˆ

But! There are some tips that can help reduce your injury risk

βœ… Start slow - don’t worry about pace if you are a beginner

βœ… Build up gradually - stick to the 10% rule

βœ… Allow adequate recovery!

πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ If you are a marathon runner then there is some research for you (Rasmussen et al 2013)
- 🚨 running less than 30km per week has a 2x increase in injury risk
- 🟒 30-60km appears to have the lowest injury risk
- 🟠 60km and above had no added injury prevention

So, aim for at least 30km a week and build things up gradually. Running over 60km may not be protective against injury so don’t feel like you have to hammer yourself all week!

As always - if you have any niggles then get them checked out before they start limiting your running!

Jill is trading smashing workouts at Beyond πŸ’ͺ for the international stage!

She is off to represent Aotearoa New Zealand πŸ‡³πŸ‡Ώ with the at the IDBF World Dragon Boat Racing Championships πŸš£β€β™€οΈ

This year, it is being hosted at the Regatta Beetzee, Brandenburg, Germany from 14th-20th July!
