Day 4 of our 100km walk for Bowel Cancer NZ
As a team, we’ve now walked a total of 63km! and will continue logging more kilometer's as we go.

12 Month Prescriptions 💊

While this is positive news for eligible patients, please review the guidelines below.

From 1 February 2026, some people with stable, long-term conditions may be able to receive a 12-month prescription.

• Not everyone will be eligible. Your prescriber will decide what is safe and appropriate, this will require a consultation to discuss.

• Medicines will still be supplied in up to three months at a time (or six months for oral contraceptives).

• You will still pay one prescription co-payment per item when you collect your first supply.

• Repeats must be collected from the same pharmacy and cannot be transferred.

• There is no change for controlled medicines, including morphine, ADHD stimulant medicines (such as methylphenidate), benzodiazepines (such as temazepam), and zopiclone.

The poster below from The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RNZCGP) has a more detailed description. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to give us a call on 07 24 24 510.

This February, We are taking part in Move Your Butt for Bowel Cancer and will be walking 100km each! to beat bowel cancer and save Kiwi lives.

And our challenge starts THIS SUNDAY! 💜🧡💜

Every month, 100 Kiwis die from bowel cancer and 253 people are diagnosed with this awful disease.

So, were taking on this challenge to raise funds for Bowel Cancer New Zealand to raise awareness, support patients and fund research to stop bowel cancer taking the people we love.

Kia ora
We wish to take a moment and acknowledge the recent severe weather events in our communities and across the Motu.

Our thoughts are with the whānau, friends, and wider community who have been affected.

We also want to acknowledge and thank the emergency responders and volunteers who have been supporting our communities during this incredibly difficult time.

Our team is available to support those navigating health or wellbeing concerns in the wake of these events.

Remember “Slip, Slop, Slap”?

The iconic sun safety ads from the 80s and early 2000s may be old, but the message is still so important.
Today it’s Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek, and Slide.

Slip on sun-protective clothing
Slop on high SPF sunscreen (reapply every 2 hours)
Slap on a wide-brimmed hat
Seek shade
Slide on wrap-around sunglasses

Simple steps to protect your skin this summer ☀️
