Looking for a fun and nourishing winter project with the kids?
These homemade immune supporting gummies are always a hit in our family. Some of my favourite blends are packed with the goodness of herbs like echinacea or elderberry, and boosted with vitamin C, they are an easy way to support the whole family’s wellbeing. Little hands love making (and eating) them!
This recent batch was made with our nieces and nephews. Fun to make and disappeared fast!
Chelsea Winter has come out with a beautiful, simple recipe that’s perfect for school holiday fun. Check it out here:

The vitamin C she recommends is one I often recommend in clinic from one of the practitioner-only ranges called Metagenics. It’s a high quality supplement.
If you’d like to buy some, or would like to buy kid friendly liquid herbs to add to your gummies feel free to reach out x

Your Hormones Are Talking—Are You Listening?
If you’re dealing with irregular cycles, fatigue, mood swings, or skin breakouts, these aren’t just “part of being a woman.” They are messages from your body that something may be out of balance.
As a naturopath, medical herbalist & clinical nutritionist, I help women of all ages get to the root cause of their hormonal imbalance and create personalised strategies for lasting wellness.
Common Signs Your Hormones Might Be Out of Sync:
⭐︎ Irregular or missing periods
⭐︎ PMS, mood swings, intense pain
⭐︎ Low energy or persistent fatigue
⭐︎ Bloating or digestive issues
⭐︎ Acne or sudden skin changes
These can often be linked to deeper issues.
Support Your Hormones—Naturally:
Balance Your Blood Sugar
→ Eat protein, healthy fats & fibre with each meal
→ Avoid skipping meals
→ Cut back on refined sugar & processed foods
Love Your Liver
→ Eat cruciferous veggies (broccoli etc.)
→ Stay hydrated & enjoy liver-supportive teas
→ Reduce exposure to everyday toxins (What goes on your skin matters too).
Manage Stress Gently
→ Practice daily relaxation (What fills your cup?)
→ Prioritise sleep & movement you enjoy.
Get to the Root cause
Don’t guess → assess.
→ If small tweaks to your lifestyle aren’t enough, work with a trusted GP or Naturopath to uncover what’s really going on.
→ Keep track of your symptoms, dates and key health events. (The apple health app is great for this).
→ Explore key nutrients and herbs that help manage this
Personalised Care = Better Results
No two bodies are the same. That’s why tailored treatment plans are key to restoring balance and feeling like you again.

Crisp mornings and cooler days mean your immune system’s working a bit harder especially with those frostier starts on farm!
Now’s a good time to lean into nutrient-dense, warming foods and consider key immune nutrients like vitamin C, zinc, and vitamin D plus those trusty immune boosting herbs:
Ginger, thyme, echinacea, andrographis, astragalus, Siberian ginseng, withania, olive leaf, elecampane, elderflower, pelargonium… even nigella to name a few!
Simple, everyday support that makes a real difference.
If you’d like a tailored liquid herbal blend to support your immune system, send me a DM.

You’ve probably heard how awesome magnesium is and why you might need it. But, why is magnesium best taken at night and a why are split does better?
Did you know that absorption of Magnesium starts within 1 hour and the most absorbable forms are Magnesium Citrate or Chelated Magnesium. In healthy people only 30-40% of Mg is absorbed which can increase if there is a deficiency or low intake at up to 70% absorption hence split does can increase absorbed proportion.
Factors that increase absorption are
• Selenium
• Parathyroid hormone
• Vitamin B1 + B6
• Vitamin C
• Vitamin D
Things that hinder absorption and best avoided when taking Magnesium are
• Phytate
• Fibre
• Alcohol
• Excess Saturated Fat
• Phosphorus
• Calcium
• Iron
• Manganese
Don’t forget there are quite a few good food sources like...
• Legumes
• Wholegrain cereals
• Dark Green leafy veggies
• Cocoa
• Nuts and Seeds
• Barley
• Brewers yeast
• Cod
• Eggs
• Kelp
• Molasses
• Parsnips
• Mineral water
• Hard water... and so many more sources!!
So make sure your diet is nourishing. If you suspect you have deficiency or you have a condition that may benefit from Magnesium supplementation and need a clinically therapeutic dose talk with your Gp or Naturopath first as there are potential nutrient/drug interactions so care should be taken - Kx
