We are looking for a senior kaiawhina / caregiver to work in Aroha House our secure dementia unit. We have a great team of people who provide specialised care for our residents here and so we need a special kind of person to join them.

We are looking for an RN to join our team. If opportunity and lifestyle sound like you, please apply. You will need to be confident, able to cope with a busy and changeable environment, be a great communicator and able to work flexibly across all shifts.

As a Registered Nurse you will be responsible for:
• Providing quality nursing care for residents including assessment and administration of medication and other cares to meet their needs
• Providing leadership of shift including delegation of work
• Conforming with all policies, procedures and legal requirements of the home
• Communicating with residents, families and other staff as required.

You will also need to have:
• A current and valid NZNC registration and APC
• Relevant nursing experience
• A current work visa for NZ
• A current first aid certificate
• Interrai training is preferable

We are looking for a cook to work preparing light evening meals for our 60 residents in the evenings. Shifts are from 4 - 8pm and include cooking, serving and cleaning up. It is a busy shift so time management and a friendly manner are important.

Previous experience is useful and a qualification in food safety is a requirement. There may also be an opportunity for relief cooking in the day time.

In light of the high risk posed to our residents by the COVID-19 pandemic we have decided to take the cautious path and go into "lock down".

From Wednesday 18 March onwards visitors will be restricted to immediate family and essential personnel (as determined by management) during set visiting hours.

We are asking all family, friends and whānau to help protect residents and staff in the facility by respecting these restrictions on visitation and taking practical steps to minimise risk exposure.

If you are feeling unwell or have come into contact with anyone who has travelled in the last 14 days or who is self-isolating please do not visit.

We will work with families to explore other ways of keeping in touch with your loved ones, including telephone or video calls, letters or photographs.
